National Football League 2018

I see the Lions traded their best receiver for a draft pick.

Does Golden Tate have baggage or something I'm not aware of? And if so, why did the Eagles want him?

They did the trade, in an attempt to outstupid the Packers.

He’s 30, on the last year of his deal, and Golladay is balling out. If they’re not planning on offering him a 3yr/25M deal or such, then moving on at the trade deadline is just good business.

Tate is on the last year of his deal. If he leaves the Lions, they would get a compensatory draft pick in 2020. By trading him now, the Lions now have a 2019 draft pick.
Tate comes to the Eagles who have a few slot receivers but what he does it stretch the field to let the TE's work the middle. Good trade for all.

Basically the entire Redskins OLine is currently in the hospital. Such is life.

I look forward to a new coaching staff in 2019.
