Took the dogs and myself out on a little bike ride up a trail near my home as things were getting dark earlier, and at the same time, did some Miles deep diving with this 4 part, 15 min each, set of podcast episodes exploring Kind of Blue. if anyone wants a really scrubby jazz bath where you look under the hood and clean in all the cracks and crevices and under the nails, this does the job. Very interesting stuff to me, pulling apart the song structures, talking about the players, recording issues, etc. A good thing to occupy one’s mind.

Don’t know if you saw the original jazz bath thread. I didn’t say anything about the anxiety or stress I think most folks are feeling right now due to what’s going on in the world, because I didn’t want it to get political. There are some cool recommendations from fellow weiners for stuff to relax with. Beautiful Music really grabbed me. Piano and violin.

Nah, I never saw that! That was why I was posting here. And also because I was being more specific about stress and things I was doing today to combat it, hoping I might share something with someone else that might help ease things. Will check out the other thread now so this place can get back to normal journaling and sharing.

All good. I think this thread is what you make it. If it’s helping you, there’s a good chance it could help somebody else too.

Jazz is the sound and feel of autumn in NY for me. NYC or up in Adirondacks...driving or riding Metro North (specifically the Hudson line)...chilling at home or hiking some trails...loving the overcast and even rainy days...

Coltrane, Miles, Brubeck, the Brecker Brothers, Shorter, Herbie, McLaughlin, Monk, Frisell, Motion, Brown, and so many more...

Didn't get a minute to myself in work today except the odd check of the results.

I wouldn't say I'm anxious, I'm more bewildered that it's panning out like it is but I'm thinking of you guys.

Hang in there. HANG IN THERE! We have each others’ backs here. I am feeling stronger today, though tired from staying up too damn much. I am having growing hope at least about the Biden-Harris race, and some other harbingers of hope around the country I am seeing. Even if I am really disappointed about the Senate.

Water, rest, some form of pleasant mental/emotional engagement. Self care, cling to each other. Home, here, wherever.

I am going to get my guitar out some today, and show up at @Mark Wein ’s video presentation about his weekly lesson tonight. That is something I can do to make my personal life better. Hope to see some of you there.

Hang in there.

Regardless of the ultimate outcome, we will have split party leadership (Rep - Senate, Dem - House). I feel that leads to better decision making due to the mitigating of both parties extremes by the need to compromise.

I am not really concerned. We have another election in two years, then again in four years. It works. Breath.
I can't even begin to tell you how much I disagree with everything you've said here. There is no such thing as compromise anymore when one party is completely uninterested in governing.
