Mark's Music School Diary.

I'm in kind of a strange headspace these days. My recital is over, the small groups concert was last night. I have one more concert next week and then I am finished playing guitar at school (for the most part). I have three term papers and a couple of presentations to finish up and I am really not into doing anything. Totally checked out. Thinking about what the next steps are going to be starting May 19th. For the first time in fifteen years, I won't have Premier and I won't have school over my head.

You're part timing Mark. That's what we call it here. It's a tough place to be sometimes and other times it helps you get clarity.

Today I have two projects to turn in/present. In Jazz Pedagogy, I'm supposed to teach a topic of my choosing for 15 minutes. I literally printed pages from my book "Expanded Blues Guitar" and I'm going to teach from that. In World Music, I need to make a listening guide for a piece of music that relates to my term paper. I'm going to use "I'm Gonna Leave" from my album Black Market Hearts since its a song that I played at the jam that I am writing about.

Then I have the last big band concert of my CSUF career and I was asked to play a trio feature since I'm graduating so I'm going to play some blues in Meng Hall.

It's all about me today :embarrassed:

ARRRRGGHHHHH.

I have two more papers to write and I am sitting here in front of the computer like a 5-year-old refusing to eat his vegetables.

I did get this in the mail Friday though:
