Like an Aztec sacrifice to the automotive gods they are cutting the heart of my truck

Wow, those old 80's era V8's were pretty damn low on power. Not sure if that was the compression ratio or what, but I remember the old 305 camaros and stuff making like 150-180 hp. Pretty damn lame. Might be time to look into a nice street crate motor.

No funds for a new motor and it wouldn't matter anyway with the 2 speed power glide transmission. Still fun to drive around town though :)

No rust.
I haz the NVs.

Engine bay looks clean, that toque converter looks fairly new.

Nothing wrong with chrome VCs. Kids today hate chrome. Probably because they'd have to polish/maintain it. I love chrome.

I know it's not doable right now for you, but putting headers on right now would be a great addition.

it's not in the worst of shape. but it is dirty. No real rust issues thankfully. The trans was rebuilt about 300 miles before I bought the truck.

Now it's time for the Mean Green/Purple Power/Gunk, Scotch Brite pads, old toilet cleaner brush, toothbrush, gloves. Get into every nook and cranny you can. And any little thing you need to fix while the engine's out. Compressed air dry, a couple rattle cans of High Temp semi-gloss black. Woo hoo! :)

Chevrolet Orange on the block? Too bad you can't use the old Chevrolet Script covers. They're so cool. Some guys would paint 'em, then with a small fine brush, highlight the script with white or silver. Beautiful!

To me, few things are an awesome as a freshly painted Chevy orange engine in nicely cleaend and painted engine bay with a touch of chrome!

Yeah! Cleaning an painting are the menu for the week. I also have to run the heater core and radiator down to the shop as well. It's gonna be really nice under the hood and ghetto outside for a while :embarrassed:

I've done this. Hand painted the letters. It looks great.

Look at what was siting at the radiator shop when I got there... Too bad it was lowered:

That's pretty cool.

I'd think that 'unlowering' something like that wouldn't be too difficult. Probably some new coil springs in the front and some new leaf springs in the back.

At least it wasn't lowered down to where it's belly was scraping the ground.
