I know you hate it but THIS IS THE WEIN NFL THREAD...'25-'26

Sorry, Bears fans, Rams win in OT. Caleb Williams threw his 3rd interception of the night in OT and the Rams kicked a field goal to win.
Bears made a helluva attempt at a rally. If Johnson had elected for even one of those early field goals, would have been a different story.

That said, successful season. Good QB. Good coach. Room to grow. Pretty much the first time in my lifetime I can say that.

I would not characterize their game play as a choke. The Bills played a top ranked defense, yet managed to move the ball well against the Broncos. They made some mistakes, which can happen against a good team. The Broncos capitalized on the mistakes and lead by 10 points at the half.

The Bills adjusted their game in the second half and dominated. They managed to tie the game, sending it into OT.

Ultimately, the Bills lost in overtime, but they played a close game. They played a hard fought, physical game, yet came up short. Perhaps, if they did not have so many players out with injuries, they could have won.

The 49ers choked. Of course, they’ve been plagued with injuries. But, it wasn’t even competitive. The Seahawks dominated them the entire game.
Buffalo just can't win that big game time and time again.

It was a great game. The Bears were a fun team to watch this season.

I don’t believe they can’t. They just have not yet.

I’m a Broncos fan. Look how many years John Elway played before he finally won back to back Super Bowls. He lost three Super Bowls before winning two. Many said Elway can’t win the big game. Terry Bradshaw in particular was very vocal in stating that John did not have what it takes.

John Elway started to doubt Dan Reeves (head coach). Reeves fired his assistant coach, Mike Shanahan, for his attempt at trying to heal the rift between Reeves and Elway. Reeves planned to trade Elway. But, owner, Pat Bowlen, fired Dan Reeves instead.

When Mike Shanahan became head coach, he built a team around John Elway. Star running back, Terrell Davis played a big part.

Josh Allen has what it takes IMO. He also needs the right coach and a full healthy team of the right players around him.

I have a soft spot for Buffalo because I loved those amazing but cursed Jim Kelly/Thurman Thomas Bills teams when I was a kid. But, man, they cannot catch a fucking break as a franchise.

I like the Bills. Josh Allen plays with such heart and emotion. But, it takes a healthy team to win consistently. Injuries play a big part in the results of a season.

Bears are done for the year. Surprised they made it as far as they did would be the understatement of the year. I'm only excited for what they will do next year.

But their success has created a problem for me. Which bandwagon do I jump on? Usually in November I start "shopping" for who I'm going to root for in the playoffs but, the Bears were too good this year. Superbowl is easy for me, I always go with the NFC team, except a few years I went with the Ravens. The Seahawks were fun to watch when Marshawn Lynch was there but, their current run game style is almost as boring to me as teams that only pass/never run.

In short, I grew watching Peyton, loved watching Adrian Peterson. Are there any teams remotely like that?

Sean McDermott has been fired.

Buffalo would be a great place for a living legend like Matt Nagy to go coach.

Daboll is coming back. That’s gotta be it. Maybe they want a bit of Matt Eberflus. Shit. They could hire Flus and Nagy and get themselves some nasty Matt on Matt action.

Sorry Bears fans. That one stung. You showed a lot of promise, and should be right there next season. At least you'll have the Cubbies to watch soon. It will be without gold glove and silver slugger Kyle Tucker though. That one stung also. As a Dodger's fan, I feel a little guilty that they snagged him.

Gruden would be perfect for Buffalo. He likes to take a team to the big dance when that team is on the verge. Can you say Tampa Bay.

I've watched some of his in-depth NFL pre-game analysis on YouTube. He digs into the details deep about the 2 teams about to play. He's thorough, but it's long.

That was almost 25 years ago.

There is a reason he was stuck coaching the Raiders over and over (until he got shit canned for racist emails).

Ben Johnson may be a great motivator but he’s a fucking moron when it comes to strategy…

Draws up some pretty great plays and generally calls a decent game. The hyper-aggressive thing and some of the situational football stuff definitely could be improved. But going from worst to first and winning a playoff game…I’ll take it.

That was quick. EB is coming home!

Funny thing is, we'll actually be staying in a hotel about three miles from Levi's Stadium during Super Bowl week. Damn that room is more expensive than usual...
