Hockey fans - thoughts on the playoffs?

The ice certainly looks tilted towards the flames.
Speaking of tilted, Ottawa does not look good. After last night they're having a goalie identity crisis and not clicking in the offensive zone. Ottawa did play with a lot of heart, but at this point I don't see the series going any direction other than to Montreal. The only question is if it will be 4-0 or 4-1 when it's over.

Ottawa's didn't address the real problem that they have by changing the goalies. Ottawa's been outshot in the 2nd/3rd periods of all 3 games as well as both OT's. Sooner or later that is going to catch up with you and it has for Ottawa. They are also apparently giving up way more shots against than they had been during the regular season. I don't see another San Jose collapse here. Ottawa is not as good as the Kings were last year and Price is not as bad as Niemi.

Agreed on Ottawa.
Watching the Rangers/Pens right now, so far the Rangers are up 1-0. The Rangers just look "deeper" and more confident - I don't see Pittsburgh winning this series.

I have to say, the officiating has gotten incredibly inconsistent this year, and in this round specifically. I wish the refs would just let em play; most the crap just takes care of itself.
I'm seeing the pens giving up the zone quickly and not committing in deep. And yes, there always seems to be 3 rangers back at all times and they are clogging up the neutral zone, driving the play to the boards.
The pens better generate some chances in the next 20 min.

Yup agree on the Rangers and throughout the playoffs I think maybe only Tampa is as deep in the East
The Jets/Ducks game was a fun one. Looks like the Ducks will be winning maybe in 4 which they will be happy about, a 7 games series with that amount of hitting...the victory might be Pyrrhic. Some of those hits were brutal.
And the Blues cannot win on the road....still

Katie Kerrick was excited to head to the Bell Centre to catch the Montreal Canadiens versus the Ottawa Senators in the second game of the 2015 NHL playoffs. She had secured a pair of resale tickets for the April 17 game for her and her 23-year-old sister, Annie, who drove up from New Hampshire just for the game.
Originally from Ottawa, the young women decided to don their Senators jerseys. Kerrick, 19, says she's accustomed to the verbal harassment thrown at her whenever she wears a Sens shirt in Montreal. "There were a lot of comments made but that didn't really bother us," she said. But it did bother her when a man at least 10 years her senior hit her and her sister with his towel, threw beer on them and called them derogatory names.
She said the assailant was sitting a couple of seats over from her in the same row. When she and her sister got up after the third period to hit the bathrooms, he followed her out while hitting her in the back of the head with his game towel, Kerrick recalled. "I thought it was an accident at first but then it kept happening, so I knew it was on purpose," she said.
She told him it wasn't funny and asked him to stop. "And he said, 'F--king whore' and continued to do it," said Kerrick.
She said she told an attendant about the incident almost immediately. As they were speaking, the man "went out of his way to nudge me, and then his friend also did the same," Kerrick said. Within a few minutes, another older man wound up his towel and hit her sister in the leg while the two women walked to the bathroom. They told a second attendant who told her, "So what do you want me to do, give them a mean look?"
The two women gave up trying to stop the harassment, and returned to their seats for the overtime period.
The Habs scored the winning goal a few minutes into overtime. The first man from her row who had previously hit her with the towel decided to rub it in. "His first action of celebration was to lean over his two friends, who also leaned back so he could do this, and throw his beer onto us — and it was a pretty full can. I was pretty soaked and so was my sister," Kerrick said.
Kerrick said plenty of people witnessed the incidents but no one came to her and her sister's defence. As the crowd slowly moved out of the Bell Centre after the game, the two sisters tried to high-tail it out of there. The women were met with jeers and more vulgar comments from passersby.
Kerrick, who also used to cheer for the Habs when they weren't playing the Senators, says the experience has tainted her love for le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.

If poetic justice applied to hockey, Ottawa would win 4 straight. Sadly, that just doesn't happen much and often Montreal has more luck than any other team. Oh well...

Other than you hate Montreal I don't see why that would be poetic justice? The Sens have been the better team for 3 periods, the Habs for about 7 (6 plus both overtimes). If you haven't watched that you can't say they have been lucky because they have simply been better. Now the Ducks, they might just be lucky though I have not watched all of the games so I'm not sure. But they have gone into the 3rd trailing in all 3 games and managed to win which does seem kind of lucky. Mind you they did that all year so it's kind of an MO for them (I think the Ducks had the most 1 goal victories in the league)

Montreal is the better team. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ottawa perhaps win the next game, but there is no way they'll win this series.
As for Montreal fans, well, that's one incident... I've heard of others, but that can probably be said for any major sporting venue.
The Blackhawks are looking strong in their series, wouldn't be surprised to see them move on to the next round.
I'm thinking Calgary vs Ducks is coming up - hoping to see Calgary win that one if it happens.
