I wonder if he was with Stoll as he got nailed in April.

As for Richards...felony coke possession reduced to two misdemeanors (news posted 18 hours ago). The law sure is different when you have money!

I always like Richards.....I heard he liked to party, but I never had any issue with him as a player from a fan's point of view.

Shame, really.

That being said, I'm more concerned about LA's ability to terminate a contract pending charges vs a conviction, and thus circumventing the salary cap. Interesting, to say the least.....I don't think LA can do that.

Yeah, it was a shock, as the Hawks made signing Saad their #1 priority, and it sucks to lose such a good young player, but apparently he wants the big contract now from whoever can give it to him, rather than take a lesser deal for a shorter time with the potential for a HUGE deal in a couple of years and stay with the cream of the NHL. Hey, whatever - business is business, but I get the feeling Saad did not expect the Blackhawks to pull the plug. And here's the kicker: Cbus better be sure they sign him, because if they don't by tonight, they can lose him to any other team. Sure, they'll get some draft picks in return, but they lost a lot of propects in the trade.

They wouldn't have done that if their legal team didn't confirm it; plus, most pro teams have conduct clauses that do not require a conviction, let alone charges being filed. Usually repeated instances of poor conduct are enough, but teams sometimes opt to keep giving players a chance as long as they are still productive (see: the NFL). Have also heard nothing from the Richards camp or the NHLPA, so I doubt there will be any repercussions.

We blew out big dollar Rick Nash to the Rangers last year and got Anisimov as part of that package, who's now off to the Hawks in the Saad trade. And CBJ's did pretty well without Nash this year.
The Jackets need this juice to keep up the momentum of the last 2 years, though. Cbus lacks the five LEGENDARY pro sports teams that Chicago boasts.
We do have OSU, but that gets a little ridiculous sometimes.
I ain't taking sides here, though. I grew up going to Blackhawks games at Chicago Stadium. Loved watching them win the cup.
 
That's a surprising trade. Hawks are in Cap hell right now so like a few other teams they look to be blowing up the winning team, rumours are Bickell and Sharp are on the block as well though not sure if that changes because of this trade.

Sharks think they got their goalie of the future from LA by way of Boston. The last trade I remember that Boston made with the Sharks turned out pretty well for team Teal
 
Some pretty interesting moves today, Kessel/Malkin and Crosby sounds scary but who's going to play D (Paul Martin to SJS).
