Give me something to watch on Netflix

Anyone else watched Post Mortem? I'm on Episode 2 and pleasantly surprised so far though still not sure if it has staying power.

Oh, and the wife and I started Nine Perfect Strangers on Amazon. Pretty well made series, has characters that are well acted and is visually stunning.

If you haven't already watched it, avoid Midnight Mass. It isn't that it's a bad show overall. It starts off great, builds wonderfully, but then turns to absolute rubbish in the last couple of episodes. The great start makes the terrible ending all the more painful.

And there are huge plot holes that will leave you going "WTF???"

My main problem is that there are just too many monologues.

Many made the same criticism of Haunting of Hill House, but I didn't quite mind it there and didn't seem quite so excessive. This shows seems 90% monologues and heart to heart conversations. And like 10% something scary happens.

Yes, that too. I got so tired of listening to Riley and Erin ramble on about life and philosophy. And none of it was pertinent to the plot.

Currently watching Monsters Inside: the 24 faces of Billy Milligan.

Halfway through and it's fascinating. I'm sure there's a twist or 2 to come.

The oat studio thing has been out there for awhile. I remember when it was on youtube about 4 or 5 years ago.

it’s neill blomkamp who did district 9 and some other ones. So he gets a bit bigger budget that most making short films. But i also thought these were more interesting concepts than any of his feature films so far. I figured he would eventually develop them into full length films, but who knows.

Finished Midnight Mass over the weekend…good, liked the mistaken interpretation of events that the protagonists were operating under…liked all the end of life philosophies that were discussed…overall really good

Watched “The Guilty” over the weekend and was about 15 min in when I thought “They must have shot this during Covid quarantine because 99% of the movie is Jake Gylenhall and everyone else is talking to him on the phone (911 operator).

That said, it’s a pretty cool movie, especially if you can imagine what is going on by sound alone to try and figure out the story as it unfolds.

After I watched the movie I learned that the director even tested positive during the shoot and ended up directing the entire movie from a TV Van on the other side of the fence from the set.
