Give me something to watch on Netflix

I'm curious about The Midnight Gospel (wacky trippy animation paired with audio clips from an interview podcast (with some added dialogue to fit the interviews into something of a story). Anyone tried it?

Maybe I'll give it a go tonight and report back

I tried it. Either I was too stoned or not stoned enough. Didn't take.

I watched Snatch yesterday. I know it's going on 20 years old now, but still an enjoyable film with plenty of plot twists. Couldn't understand 80% of what Pitt's character was saying.

Snatch is such a good movie but you really have to pay attention due to the accents and dialogue.

Just started Hannibal. The dialogue is excruciating and so is the guy who plays Will. Does this get better?

I can heartily recommend NOT watching The Invitation. The worst sort of psychological thriller. Starts off pretty good. Builds intensity and intrigue along the way. Falls flat at the end.

Watched Birdman, didn't know what to make of the story so much, but the cinematography on that and the performance and timing necessary to pull that off is absolutely amazing. Even if it isn't just one take, it's still many continuous shots put together so seamlessly.

Finished Last Kingdom season 4 last week. Not bad but what a placeholder of a season. *spits*
I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons, but it gets to be tedious watching. So much violence, and everyone makes decisions based on anything but logic.

Yeah, I was thinking snooze city until shit hit the fan in episode 4, then it just settled into somewhere in between for the rest. If it gets cancelled I'll be pissed.

Speaking of cancelled and pissed I watched and enjoyed Damnation season one just to find out it was never renewed after one season.

Read the medieval death bot twitter. Even clerks were out to skull you with a pike if you didn't die of the farting disease first. I don't have the logic beef with it. My one that lasts beyond a given episode is gratuitous and pointless deaths of certain characters. It's just rote gritty cable drama crap. There were also some really poorly written expository scenes that had big George Lucas flavor.

I don't know if I would be or not because this is the only running series that I anticipate even a little bit, and it takes so long that I forget half of what's gone on. Dampens my enthusiasm. I really miss episodic shows for genres other than comedy.

That was the Great Depression thing with the Tom Joad-type who was pretending to be a clergyman? I enjoyed that.

There was a really great show last year called Perpetual Grace, LTD which I've just discovered has not been renewed either.
