Gibson buys Mesa Boogie

I don't know enough about Mesa to comment on their business strategies, but they seem to do a lot of things right. I love my Mesa.

Maybe Gibson won't find a way to fuck things up too badly.

I knew Randal wasn't going to live forever but I was always hoping the Mike B would buy the company or inherit it or in some way keep it going. At worst I hoped Fender would buy Mesa. Their track record with acquired companies isn't that bad (Jackson comes to mind). But Gibson turns EVERYTHING they touch to shit.

Say goodbye to Mesa tone, build quality and their outstanding customer service.

The only way I will be satisfied with this is if Randall Smith will be appointed to a powerful position within Gibson and hopefully UNFUCK some of their decision making.
 
Hopefully we won't have to find "Pre 2021" Mesa Boogies to plug our "Kalamazoo only" Gibsons into. :helper:
 
I was surprised to get this notification from Gibson. But, hey -- Henry's gone, maybe the new regime will have more respect for legacy brands like this.
 
cease and desist letters now going out to all other amp makers stating they can't use a rectangle shape for their amp heads.

new mesas now being built with crappy autotune systems that dont work and you cant order a new one without them.

crafting a really dumb new slogan for mesa.

backing the tank up to run over a few thousand brand new mesas they could have donated.
