Seems to me, that if someone really wanted to road tour economically, an e-motorcycle set up all wind efficient Gulf Stream could be a good option. Would be cool to have one that would do dirt roads well too, ala certain BMW style touring bikes.
And if a frog had wings he would't bust his ass on every hop.
Such an animal doesnt currently exist.

e-bike touring is sorta possible but a huge PITA at this point without the proper charging infrastructure or proper charging technology on the bikes.
Motorcycles, as a platform, can't really hold enough battery capacity compared to cars that enable much longer ranges.

But it should. Seems a natural. Oh, and by Gulf Stream, I meant Gulf stream-ish, with a decent wind efficient weather faring, and good bags.
Range, charging time, availability of charging stations, etc. Same as with all electric 4 wheelers. Would you really wanna risk driving from Sun Valley to Denver in an all electric vehicle? Most of the way there's hardly any gas much less electricity. If the weight issue could be solved I could see a self charging hybrid coming to market. But heck I want a hybrid mini van and they cant even seem to make that happen.

First thing you have to consider is an e-moto touring range is going be far less than their stop/go/city driving range since you don't get the regenerative braking advantages. Cold temps also have a significant impact on your range.

Take Zero as an example, their stock charging mode is level 1 120v....you can add additional L1 charging ports to charge from multiple outlets simultaneously and lower the over-night charge time a bit. There's an optional 'charge tank' that'll get you a level 2 charging capability and nets you a recharge in ~ 2 hours. So 2 hour charge time for say every 70-75 miles traveled on the highway...maybe less depending on wind and driving style.

Friend of mine was using an aftermarket L2 charger on his Zero DSR and tried to ride from FLA up to NC...he got to GA when the L2 charger shorted. He decided to turn back and needed to fall back on L1 charging to get home. That return trip was far longer as a result.

At some point I will. I have a buddy who uses the Tesla network, and I don't know about CO, but has handled trips as between Seattle, SLC and SV, and Walla Walla (wine fans) just fine. But for now, because of the remote regions where I drive, I am more interested for the next couple years in something like a used but more recent prius that can be run in EV mode locally for up to 25 miles, and then has the gas option for longer drives where charging is an issue. Until the infrastructure fills in.

The old 2005 VW passat TDI is getting long in the tooth, and though it gets good mileage, I want to move away from its diesel emissions, and get something that will function similarly.

A Prius will not be as nice on the open road and highway, but maybe will have to be good enough for now. And for me, that works better than a motorcycle anyway, as i can carry stuff like a bike, and guitar inside the back, and even sleep in it if I have to.

We have plenty of MC's that really make we want to <intentionally left blank>.

Example A, someone who recently popped up on my Congressman's FB discussion:

Yea that's disgusting and exactly what Im talking about. I can deal with the old school biker Hells Angel cosplay but this shit is just unacceptable to any decent human. This stuff really only came onto my radar after I bought the bike, and the most recent election season got into full swing. My fault, I guess I just wasn't paying close enough attention. Soon after I got the bike I was having dinner with some of my wife's old drinking buddies and their husbands. One of the husbands asked me to join a group benefit ride his club was doing the next weekend. I said cool what's the charity? He said Daughters of the Confederacy. I was truly shocked and in the moment just mumbled a polite "probably cant make it". Haven't spoken to those folks since. Blocked all their FBs and ph#s soon as I got home and told the wife I'm not even associating with those people in the future. She still maintains a relationship with a couple of the old gal friends but totally understands why I won't have any of it.

Definitely the Civic. Those high pitched ricemobile sounds don’t affect me the way the thundering sound of a Harley Does. Also, if I’m listening to a Harley enough to be annoyed by it then the rider would probably be my neighbor. I’d much rather have a twenty year old riceboy neighbor than an aging Harley rider who thinks that his motorcycle and vest make him a badass like the Hells Angels when he read that book about them back in the sixties.

I have seriously considered trading in my 4Runner for a Prius. But Id have to ditch my converted utility trailer/camper unless I could pick up an old beater pickup or something.
Prius' actually make a great traveling/camping car for a single person who's not too big like me. Plenty of room to sleep and you can run the AC at night off the battery and few pennies of gas. But still a little too small to haul any significant camping gear or band gear like my upright, amp, and PA stuff.
I keep holding out for that Prius mini van but it looks like that's not gonna happen any time soon.

There are plug in hybrid mini vans. This one is the Chrysler Pacifia.
