Nobody ever, including Harley bros, have ever given me shit about the stock pipes on my Lowrider. They look good and sound good even tho they arnt very loud.

My Enfield 650 however had stock pipes that weighed half the motorcycle and just looked huge and ridiculous. I had to put on some lighter more streamlined aftermarkets to make it as it should be. Yea a bit louder with a pleasing 650 twin gurgle, but not obnoxious if you leave the plugs in. Noticible increase in pep and looks a whole lot better.

And yea, the loud pipes save lives argument doesnt cut it with me. Wanna be safe as possible? Then ride defensively and dont be an idiot.

where i live and drive around the most, there aren't so much of the tuner cars. they're annoying, but nothing like the f'ing harleys. their pipes are so loud that they can't hear an ambulance coming up behind them, until it's 50 feet away.

edit: i'm not talking about any kind of mufflers. i'm talking about open drag pipes. and they get on it hard at every stop light.

Where I live the ratio of kids in loud little cars vs old school bikers with straight pipes is probably equal. They are around but neither are all that popular. Probably just as many loud and obnoxious wanna be racers on sport bikes as either of those.
Most Harley riders are old farts on baggers and their stereos blasting ZZ and Skynard are way louder than their exhausts. Id rather hear the pipes, lol.

and while we're on the subject of (unnecessarily) loud annoying vehicles.
i'm sick and damn tired of the whole loud ass muscle trucks thing. especially the 4 door 4x4 pavement queens that will never even see a dirt road, much less actual OFF road.

Those blowin coal motherfuckers are the worst. Thankfully they are pretty rare around here. More of them the more rural you get. Out west, they are real a menace.

i can probably count on both hands the number of 'stock' sounding harleys i've seen all summer.
everyone's got the drag pipes, and there are a LOT of them around here.

The old bagger farts all have Stage 1 or 2 kits, cause they are mostly all business and professional people with more money than sense. So they are louder than stock but nothing like straight pipes. Their stereos however can be heard into the next county.

That gives me a good idea for tomorrow - Battle of the douchebags: rolling coal motherfuckers versus unabashed litterbugs

Here, everybody has a truck and many are 4x4s, but very few are extremely lifted or super obnoxious loud.
here, they come right off the dealership lot with the pipes already loud.
but in this part of ohio, there are no vehicle inspections, so alterations are very common.
