Concerts - Favorite of 2016 and Looking Forward To 2017

Wolftrap just added some shows that I'd love to see:

Chris Isaak
ARW (Anderson Rabin Wakeman), marketed as Yes featuring ARW...that's a sad little battle.
Experience Hendrix...but I'm not a fan of Zakk, Sheppard (and his band), Popavic, or Beth Hart. That said, they've got Dweezil, Guy, Lang, Cox, Layton, Mato, Cesar and David (from Los Lobos). It is unclear, however, who's going to be at which shows.

Still would love to see Lyle Lovett, Regina Spektor/Ben Folds, Elvis Costello, Tedeschi Trucks, Mellencamp, Joe Jackson, and PJ Harvey...all of whom are also hitting Wofltrap this summer.

My do the two Dave and Tim shows at SPAC. After seeing them in Dublin, the wife and I are itching for more.

I am tempted by the Isaak show. The summer before I moved back to DC, Wilco did 2 nights at Wolftrap and haven't been back since.

Yeah, they're playing too. They're good, but an act I like enough to commit to or spend money on just for them. When they were the middle act (headlining opener) for Neil Young, it was fine. I was obviously there for Neil. Sting's playing their too. Great venue for these "bigger" bands. Much more intimate than the arenas and larger outdoor amphitheaters they usually play.

I'd love to set aside a grand for Wolftraps shows every summer. Of course, if I did, there wouldn't be any acts playing that I'd want to spend money on. Still looking forward to the Punch Bros show.

Damn, I didn't see they added Wolftrap. It isn't on Wilco's site yet but is on Woftrap's. Gotta get my tickets.

Yeah, the Yes, Wilco, and Experience Hendrix shows (at least) are currently only listed on Wolftrap's site...kinda weird, but whaddayagunnado?

So, they have already changed their billing? rolleyes1 I'm sure there will be a reOnion with Howe and White , but Squier isn't with us anymore, so it really doesn't matter. Yes as a going concern kinda died once they pushed Anderson out, anyway.

I kinda wanted to see ARW back in November, but new job and all...from what I have seen on YouTube, they sound OK, but the set lists have been VERY lackluster.

So Richard Thompson was fucking AMAZING. I saw him live once with his trio, but it was only a 25-30 min set. This was an entire evening of just stunning guitar work and dry humor.

Setlist:
Bathsheba Smiles
Walking on a Wire
The Ghost of You Walks
Valerie
Crocodile Tears
Beatnik Walking
Uninhabited Man
1952 Vincent Black Lightning
Dry My Tears and Move On
I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight
Who Knows Where the Time Goes?
Trying
Woods of Darney
I Feel So Good
Josephine
Wall of Death
I Misunderstood

Encore:
Beeswing

Encore 2:
One Door Opens
Dimming of the Day

I also scored a sweet signed and numbered lyric print of Beeswing. Oh, and the venue had a free bourbon tasting. That was dope.

Haken announced a short US tour for later this year, August & September. I missed them last year, definitely want to see them this time.

I still say they are the best heavy progressive band out there at the moment. I like them much better than I do Dream Theater at this point and time. I just think that Haken is doing more musically interesting stuff than DT is (The Astonishing? :ack: ).

I know that @Poparad likes Haken. Who else?

They're finally coming by my area for the first time. I'm hoping to get my band on the opening spot on the show.

MxPx is coming to Seattle for two nights in July for a 25th anniversary show. It is just punk, but I love this band from Bremerton. Always have since I first heard them. If they are going to play for us, I am going to try and go.

Punted on going to see Terry Malts last night. Might go see Moon Duo tonight or this hipster New Orleans indie pop thing called Sweet Crude on Saturday.

Earth, Wind, & Fire and Chic just announced a tour. And Nile Rodgers will be in Chic. I was damned excited for that until I saw that it’s a Livenation tour, so tickets will probably start at $150 after fees are added.

I would love to see EWF, but it is hard to think of without Maurice.
