Hell, I like that one.

You kids are mostly on the right track. I’ve had my eye on a number of these. Hell, I’ve been looking at the Hallmark stuff for years but I have no idea what they’re like in person.

I’ve played one of those weird Fender Powercasters and almost liked it. But it might have been a victim of guitar shop setup syndrome.

Speaking of, I was killing time at a Guitar Center this weekend waiting to meet my folks for lunch nearby and they pulled a Gretsch Electromatic off the wall that was so out I had to borrow a tuner. The guy heard me tuning—it was a step and a half or more out in different directions on different strings—and he was like “Oh, I guess you were right.”

Shit, how do you expect to sell anything that way. I ain’t got time to tune yr shit.

As to the EBMM stuff. With the right lobbying effort, I’m reasonably certain I could get myself into a Jimbo Valentine or a Vincent Clark model—both of which I’ve played and dug, but I’m not certain I want to go exactly that hard at the moment re: household budget. It’s not a case of affording it so much as allocation and priorities and not wanting to have a 10 hour conversation about retirement goals and estate planning.

The guitar you want is this one:

Hear me out.... It's bold and makes a statement.... but it's lightweight and comfortable.

It has the vintage style of the dano neck... with the boldness of a single humbucker that says "oh yeah...".

It has a floyd if you want to get crazy... but it's not rear recessed so it will stay in tune even if you break a string or change that low E to drop D (D-Tuna already included :) )

Now I want one too. :helper:

It would help if you posted a list of what you already have...

BUT, what everybody needs is a carbon fiber acoustic so you can throw it in the trunk of your car, forget about it, and drag it out whenever an impromptu occasion comes up. For $799 these days, on Amazon you can get a Lava 2 Me, which has a rechargeable electronic system that uses the guitar's back as a speaker and provides reverb, chorus, and delay.
