Baseball 2018

Two things:

1. I saw this guy on the Yankees (I think) take 17 pitches last week in one at bat.
2. I saw footage of this guy on the Yankees last week who was on the bench press just bouncing the bar off his chest and doing one arm presses with 135 pounds on the long bar.

Both of these things were extremely impressive.

The Giants, like the A’s, have been at the forefront of the SABR revolution. They put on a good face though.
 
Rockies won....Cards and Dodgers lost. That puts the Rockies 1/2 game ahead of St Louis for the second wildcard and only 1/2 game out of the division lead. With only 5 games left....this is insane. They just need to win out and take what comes.

Plus the Brewers might catch the Cubbies.

The NL Playoffs (aside from Atlanta) are in major overdrive right now.

Yankees leading the league in stuff that isn't exactly winning baseball games.

I'm not so sure. They won last night....they are winning this afternoon. That will give them a one game division lead and two game lead for the second wildcard spot (should they falter) with three games left. And the Cards have 3 games with the Cubs who desperately need to win to hold on to the division lead. And the Rockies are only 1/2 game behind Atlanta to host the NLDS. They have three pitchers on fire right now and that is what wins playoff series. But they need to take care of business. The Nationals are their last series and though and they are playing pretty well right now.

And the Cards?

Apparently I really dislike some NL teams (and their sanctimonious, idiot redneck bigot fanbases looking at you Braves fans you sad satchel of deplorables).

Most fun for me will be seeing if the Red Sox do their utmost to send the Yankees to Oakland.
