2017 Equipment year end roundup

I was out of work for a few month,so light on gear in '17.

Bought an LP copy,Affinity Tele as a beater,a Vox Pathfinder 15r,and a Polytune.
All I got rid of was a student acoustic, and a Mustang I amp.

Bought nothing.

Sold nothing.

Maybe bought a few picks. Ooh and some flats for my shitty Cort Curbow bass.

A friend of mine recently picked up one of those NS Cellos... the fretted one. I sat there for probably two hours with it trying to get the bowing down, with a cheap plastic bow. If it was a fretless one I'd try to buy it from him.

I would love to have a quality viol da gamba. That’s the way to go if you’re thinking fretted cello.

I've been selling gear rather than buying but I did pick up some Duncan Antiquities for a LP knockoff I own. Really enjoying them for low gain to clean LP tonz. Also picked up some new KRK monitors and some assorted software.

Realistically an upright bass would be the most useful for me, but I can't swing it right now.

It was sell the Tweedy or sell the Collings. It sucked, but I think I made the right choice. I think.
Yeah, probably. Much as I hate to admit it. Once you get a good acoustic you bond with, you have to keep it.

Nothing went out.

I think I bought my loog kit this year.
I bought an SG kit too. Still need to start that one.

Two items incoming:
The Catalinbread Hyperpak from Howie. (It’s delivered to my friend’s house. I just need to get it.)
The SRV tribute guitar.

Absolutely this. Think I've had my Yamaha for about 12-13 years now and there's no way that ever gets sold. Love the sound of that thing. :)
Mine too, 25 years and I have yet to find it's equal.

Furch guitars are crazy good though, from my tests at Thomann. Not good enough for me to ditch my Yammy though.

And to think, I bought it damaged and thought "until I find something better...".

ok...

2015 PRS Standard 22 :embarrassed:
2010 Fender 60th Anniversary Telecaster
1961 Epiphone Century Hollowbody
1976 Fender Deluxe Reverb
Analogman King of Tone
Xotic AC Booster
Nobels ODR-1 (sold to @Modern Saint )
Strymon El Capistan delay
Boss CE-2w Wazacraft Chorus
Dunlop mini wah
Wampler Velvet Fuzz
Dunlop Reverb
mzo.effects Ohm drive prototype

On order:

Malekko Omicron Chorus (to replace the one that I sold to @dmn23 a few years ago)
Dunlop mini Phase 95
Sonic Research ST-300 mini
Keeley D and M Drive
Warmoth strat neck

The last batch of "on order" and the PRS were about moving up some planned acquisitions for this current tax year since I have no incentive next year to spend money on gear. I'll discuss that part in the politics thread if anyone wants to ask. The pedals I just ordered are for my small pedalboard...I can probably fit the mini tuner and one or the other of the mini mod pedals on with the D and M drive but not with the full-sized versions. The PRS will actually be usable for my rock gig and I can spread the wear and tear out between that, the McFeely 454 and my Les Paul a llittle more evenly and if one of them needs to go in for maintenance (or a refret as will be the case with the 454 and the Les Paul later in the year or early next year) I won't need to wait until I have a break in my gig schedule like I did this year.

On the additional "plus" side I get my McFeely 440 back in a couple of weeks too, which I am very excited about.

It's the main part of my touring rig at this point. It has brought absolute consistency to my tone from venue to venue, gets that cranked amp tone at any volume, and avoids the crapshoot of rented backline.
Thats something I'd like to try.

I didn't realize the Epiphone was a recent purchase...

I've always kinds GAS'd for the D&M Drive, but more, I think, because of D&M than for any real need...

I'd be interested to see a complete "rig rundown" sometime from you, if you are willing...

I got in April according to the NGD thread: http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/threads/nsuprise-gd-vintage-edition.82587/#post-1425128

I picked the D and M drive partially because if I had to buy a two button pedal this week supporting The Pedal Show seemed to be good karma. Obviously I think the pedal will sound good or I wouldn't bother but I've been looking at them for a while and then put it off after I got the KoT email.

Maybe in a few weeks I can do a little video. I have a bunch of work to do on my large board now that I have time and the small board will be getting an overhaul in the next week. I'm trying to have everything in working order before school starts up again and I have no time to fix or replace anything.
