Lets see what you got rid of and acquired this year.

For me it was basically got rid of 2 basses and a few minor accessories (mics, pedals)

Had a few guitars for a short amount of time.

Ending the year with these new to me:

Nothin'. But I did dig a guitar out of the basement and start playing again for the first time in years.

In the interest of not breaking the internet, I'll keep this to guitars and amps only

I built (I guess I should say assembled) 2 guitars this year.

I sold my Super Champ head and ended up with this.

My favorite pedal purchases of the year were Boss Combo Drive, Boss Reverb 6, Dod Gunslinger and TC Electronic Flashback 2.

I bought and sold a lotsa stuff with BNF potential. The substantive changes were that I upgraded my bass pedals and tuner, and bought a Foxrox Aquavibe. I also upgraded the speaker in my Music Master Bass amp so it could be used live.

Deletions: I donated a Tacoma DR12 and a Partscaster (along with a Crate TX30 and Tech 21 Trademark 10 amp) to the local high school. I traded my Kirn Barnbuster for a Martin custom 000-15.

Additions: The aforesaid Martin, a Guild Starfire IV, a Gibson LP doublecut special, a Fender Duo-Sonic HS (still somewhere between NY and CA - to be delivered next Wednesday).

Oh - I also bought this Journey Overhead OF420B acoustic. Neck comes off, and it fits in any airline overhead. It's also a darned nice parlor guitar on its own merits.

Sold my Mesa Mark V (amazing amp but too complicated for me)
Bought a 62 Hot Rod Strat and sold it
Bought a Nash S-67 that was later found to have a FUBAR neck. Got a free replacement neck from Nash
Bought a 2015 Les Paul Doublecut in TV Yellow, replaced the tuners and nut (salute to @gtrjunior ) and am very happy with it
Bought a Kemper Profiling Amp at a crazy good used price (dude's girlfriend threw him out and he needed cash) and I'm extremely happy with it
Sold my Line6 POD HD500X

I bought a bunch of Fuzz pedals.

Then I got my Carp Amp back from @Mark Wein since I left it at his house a year ago and never picked up because I almost chopped my fingers off. Took it back to my friend who built it to replace the input jack and now I play it everyday.

Another new piece of gear was growing my hair out, you know for the ladies

I got to mess with the Amplifire a couple times now. I didn't have to operate it, just play through it and it sounds really good.

Gee. I have been a bit busy this year. I think the J45 was bought the end of last year, along with the Epiphone EJ160 E. I know I bought the Danelectro 12-string this year and the Zoom 12-track recording deck. Also the Seagull A/E mandolin. Oh, and the Roland Juno keyboard.

I don't think I sold anything this year, though I have tried. I have the Summer of Love strat for sale, and maybe the EJ 160 E. Also a few pieces of old MIDI stuff. I am also selling the Zoom 8-track recorder and a 12-channel mixing board. I have a table at a musical instrument sale and swap in Hartford, CT in January and hope to sell a lot of it. Or maybe get a good trade.

Like Al, my hair is also growing out, though that started in 2016 for me. :hippie:

Mostly a purge year for me. Got rid of 3 guitars, a bass, an amp, probably 6 or 7 pedals, a couple of mic pres and a studio interface.

Bought a couple of pedals, a bunch of plug-ins, and a synth.

Early next year, I'm already planning on two pedal purchases - an EHX Mel9 and an EQD Spires. Also going to upgrade the studio monitors. Currently trying out a pair of Neumann KH120's, and I'm almost sold on them. I kind of want to try out the new JBL's first though.

It's the main part of my touring rig at this point. It has brought absolute consistency to my tone from venue to venue, gets that cranked amp tone at any volume, and avoids the crapshoot of rented backline.
