2016-17 NFL Thread.

Well the Seahawks squeaked one out ugly. Not liking that RW's ankle got hurt and they lost their new rookie. Also, shouldn't that last play have been a safety? If Miami threw a TD pass having snapped the ball before time run out it would have counted as I understand it. So therefore, should not the safety counted?

EDIT: It appears the ball was not snapped in time and the play was dead before it started. Play did not go off.

Another Hater!!!

The only thing I actually dislike about Brady is people trying to call him the best ever. If he was the best ever, they wouldn't have gone 10-5 without him, they would have gone 1-15 and gotten the first pick in the draft. If he was drafted by any of the the other 31 teams in the NFL, he probably wouldn't have gotten a chance to play and if he did, he would have been a Matt Stafford or a Sam Bradford a serviceable QB with flashes of great play. The Pats are a top notch team, their coaching staff and front office are the best in the business which is why whenever any player goes down, they don't miss a beat. I don't think any team in the NFL could go 10-5 with a backup QB unless that backup was a star, which we all know Cassel isn't.

And for the record, I hate the Colts so it isn't that I am a huge Manning fan. Them moving to Indy was part of the reason baseball was kept out of DC for so long and they kicked my Jags asses for years. It is the same thing for me admitting Emmit Smith was the greatest running back of his generation and maybe of all time. I am a life long Skins fan and it pains me to admit it, but I call it as I see it.

Not so much balls as brains. Going into OT in NO with Brees on fire that day is all but a sure loss. The two point conversion was less of a gamble with Cooper and Crabtree on your side. A perfect pass from Carr as well.

No, the man has balls. Maybe not for this call but he did shit like that in Jacksonville all the time. It didn't pay off so much in Jax which is part of the reason he is no longer there.

Nice to hear where you stand on this as most Brady haters just don't like him. As for being the best ever, he is up there with Montana and company. I know that Pats fans have put him on that pedestal and I too will side with those fans. Considering all of the short comings that TB12 since he entered the league has accomplished is quite a feat. Remember that he was drafted in the 6th round (199th overall), Stafford was a #1 pick in 2009 and Bradford was a #1 pick in 2010. Most QB's don't survive or overcome half of what he has accomplished - two names come to mind: Ryan Leaf and Johnny "Football" Manziel also both first rounders. As for Matt Cassell, he was a round 7 pick at 230. Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe who also was a #1 pick in 1993. Something does not add up.

As for Peyton, I acually like the guy, class act. Some of the best games that I watched were the Pats playing the Colts. Oh Yeah, Peyton was the #1 pick in 1998.

My point is the #1 pics all took large salaries leaving there team with not much cap room. Many of which, what has the team done? Andrew Luck is the highest salaried QB (#1 - 2012). He has lost to TB12 and the Pats when it counted. TB12 took less money to give more cap room for the team, let's see other QB's do that for the team. Some consider TB12 as being arrogant, look at Manziel and Leaf, no longer in the league like many others. I don't consider the guy arrogant. I do like other QB's, I really dig Drew Brees (Round 2, Pick 32 - 2001) who got a raw deal in San Diego. Never been a Phillip Rivers (round 1, pick #4 - 2004) fan, to me he is a whiner. Yes it will be interesting when the TB12 era ends but I will still be a Pats fan and IMHO TB12 is the GOAT.

On a side note, Dan Marino was also one of my favorites from the past. Oh Yeah...Kudos to the years that Joe Gibb coached the Skins. I loved watching them during those years.

Peyton restructured his contract many times with the Colts so they could resign players. You also don't have to take the big money when your wife is worth $360 million.

Yes there are many number one overall picks that don't shine, but when you are the number one pick, the team who drafted you sucks or they wouldn't be picking number 1. I wonder how fast Brady would have been out of the league if the Browns, Lions or Skins drafted him?
