2016-17 NFL Thread.

He will be OK, provided the flags are thrown for the helmet to helmet contact, and blows to the head. Only 1 flag for 4 such hits Thursday vs the Broncos. In addition to the helmet to helmet hit in Benjamin in the end zobe.

Let me get this straight...
Y'all are gonna run your massive QB head-first into the D-line 12-15 times a game, never coach him to throw the ball away or slide to avoid contact and then complain that the refs don't do enough to protect him?!? As a guy with an RG3 jersey hanging in the closet, I'm struggling to sympathize with you.

Apples and oranges. The NFL says it is big on safety against concussions, ie helmet to helmet contact where the only intent is to injure.

So there is a big hubbub as the Seahawks are planning to do something other than stand and etc. for the Anthem. Coach Pete says whatever they plan to do will be respectful. I say good for them. I am no Kaepernick fan, but I support his right to express himself.

Then after that is all done, I hope it will be all business out on the field.

Brandon Marshall lost some endorsements after not standing for the national anthem.

And as Kareem Abdul Jabbar said:
"What should horrify Americans is not Kaepernick’s choice to remain seated during the national anthem, but that nearly 50 years after [Muhammad] Ali was banned from boxing for his stance and Tommie Smith and John Carlos’s raised fists caused public ostracization and numerous death threats, we still need to call attention to the same racial inequities," Abdul-Jabbar wrote, referring to prominent protests by black athletes that were once considered controversial but have since become iconic symbols of the U.S. civil rights movement.

Go Seahawks!

Keep the political bullshit out of sports. Just play the game.

And if making millions as a "Black Suppresed" person as a QB for any sport team gives you the right to not stand for the country that gave you the ability to make millions, then fuck you. Plain and simple, fuck you.

Let me say it again, fuck you.

I have no respect for Seattle if they do this and I have already lost respect, all respect for Kaepernick. Fuck him and fuck Seattle Seahawks.

In case you didn't hear it the first three times. Fuck you. Respect is earned, not a privilege even if you are black, white Asian or handicapped.

Fuck you Kapernicm, fuck you Seatle. Grow the fuck up.

I really would like to see the Eagles beat the Browns since the Browns didn't think Wentz was a good enough QB to draft. This coming from a team that has had how many different QB's over the years?

I moved my comment to the I hate politics thread.

Go Skins!

My hope for the Seahawks tomorrow is that they worked as a team to come to a decision about what to do, and therefore are united in their purpose, will get that done, and will play on the field as a united unit and kick some ass to make a point. My hope anyways. We'll see how it works out.

Look how many first rounders they took at QB and they all blew. Maybe they are a little gun shy after all that fail

EDIT: Found the game. Seems like the standing locking arms went fine and was not that big a deal. Ok, let's have some football! Go Seahawks!
