This sums up my position. "Achilles Last Stand" is ridiculous..the drums, the bass, how Page builds up the guitars..the solo is one of his best..and Plants melody on top of that. Just ridiculous.
Also, I was listening to "Houses of the Holy" earlier, and when "The Song Remains The Same" kicks in...I was thinking there had never been a song that sounded ANYTHING at all like it before..that I'm aware of at least. A completely original rock song.
I'm actually not a massive fan of Zeps earlier blues rock stuff..it's fine, but for me, they really came into their own from "Houses of the Holy" onwards..just totally different, much funkier, heavier and weirder too. "Presence" is my favourite album. Ever.
