Anywho...Good game going on tonight between the Bolts and the Habs..The only game being played...

I'm sure the Leafs are watching with baited breath.............
 
And the Leafs are still holding their breath...Going to be a very interesting Saturday-hockey wise...

Hockey is about tradition. The Penguins have a tradition of .... inventing tradition. Or stealing tradition.

O6 teams are all important bcos O6.
 
I know it's early, but there is NOBODY on the Flyers team I wouldn't trade (for the right price) except for maybe Wayne Simmonds and our rookies.

We're not going to be good for another 2 to 3 years, but we have a TON of young talent coming up.
We just need to make space by shedding these horrible salaries.

BTW, if you go back to the other thread from before the season started, I was right on the money.

Our defense sucks, and until it stops sucking, the team is going to be mediocre.

Maybe we can shed some deadbeats in the expansion draft. Guess we'll see.

Good news is that Sam Morin made his NHL debut the other night.

Mark my words, the kid is going to be a force in the NHL. (6'7", 220 lbs, only 21 years old and plays with a chip on his shoulder.) He's going to be a cornerstone defenseman, something which we haven't had since Pronger retired.
 
IMO there are a few teams that are really good that give up too many goals and need defense. Sad to say I think the Penguins are one of those teams. They can beat any team when they score a shit load of goals but are screwed if they don't. We'll see. Good to know that Malkin will be back. I'm in a hockey pool at work and picked a few Pen's. Like I said, we'll see...

Watching the NYR-OTT and CBJ-PHI games now....Good weekend for hockey fans..........
 
I watched a bit of the game last night. I figured TB would win since MTL is locked in and isn't playing for anything while TB had to win to have any chance. Even still I think a Leafs win and it's over and the Pens sound like they are going to be resting guys. I'll be at the Sharks Flames game tonight. Last home game of the reg season is always fun to go to. Sharks are stumbling badly going into the playoffs and I don't have a lot of hope this year. They badly need Couture back and playing well

I have to admit that I'm a little peeved that there's no talk here about the NHL players not going to the Olympics????????
 
Olympics are crooked as F. I am more pissed off that Team Canada official clothing and so on is made in China.

I know that the players want to go and the owners don't want it because they have the bulk of the risk.

Ovie says he is going. When one of the biggest heavyweight names says he is going, I am sure spme others will too.

Auston Mathews is all over this game tonight. Pass right on the tape but shooter doesn't score... no point for another perfect pass. Involved in defense too. Elite.

Kessel sucks.
 
Kessel only sucked when he played for TO..No motivation..

He's one of the reasons why the Pens won the cup last year..

No...Kessel sucks. Happy if he scores and unhappy when he doesn't regardless of whether or not the team wins.

He definitely helped the team win last year because he can score and the Pens were deep enough and well-rounded enough to absorb his detrimental aspects. He scored big in Toronto and he still sucked.

I am still surprised that Kessel didn't suck the talent right out of the Pens' roster last year like the line-up black hole that he is.


If Mathews was on the Oilers instead of McDavid, Mathews would have 110 points.
