The Official Jack's Place 2017 NHL Thread!

Edmonton with a huge statement win last night after 2 consecutive games with huge goals against which included goaltender interference.

Glad to see Nashville move on. Right now I believe they are the best team in the playoffs. No idea why the hate unless you never watch them and simply don't like the fact that Nashville has a team in the NHL. No worse than LA having a team IMO.

What's to like about Nashville

1. They play a fast and physical game, I think they ended up with 7 or 8 odd man rushes to 0 in the last game.
2. They have a great d core Josi and PK are both very dynamic game changing players (and MTL is probably having a lot of second thoughts these days, I personally thought it was a stupid trade).
3. Pekka Rinne is a world class goalie, and in a similar vein as Brodeur a great puck handler which can fuel their offense.
4. The fans are super, great energy and enthusiasm from that building. Must be a great place to be the home team.

Oilers/Nashville would be a great series, if the Oil can pull it off. They came though big time last game but really this series should have been over in 5, they had leads in the 4 and 5th games and lost both. Now they go into a toss up game 7. The advantage they have is the Ducks have, recently, choked in game 7's. Neither goalie played well in the last game so I suspect they will stick with Gibson and look for him to have a bounce back game. The Oilers need to get to him early to take the crowd out of it and but the game 7 doubt into the Ducks.

I can't see any holes in Nashville's game right now.

They are ON FIRE, from the coach on down. Great, great effort and strategy to beat the Blues.

Yeah, the Pens just completely shit the bed tonight, but they have a HUGE problem if the Caps keeping shooting high on Fleury's glove side - he could not come close to stopping that shot.

It was mainly in the 2nd. My surround sound setup outputs mostly crowd noise to the rear speakers so you can hear it pretty good.

The loudest was when the Pens failed to get a single shot on goal during a powerplay *chuckle*

I found it amusing that the Pittsburgh fans weren't saying "Crosby was in some battles" or anything of that nature but instead were saying "did you see them beating on Crosby?"

It just doesn't end. His own teammates got him at least twice.

Well if TP isn't here there isn't so much fun beating on the Pens is there? I didn't watch the game yesterday but the summary I saw suggested that the Pens were completely outplayed by the Caps. Seems they have found something on MAF (high glove side) and I wonder if Crosby is not completely right after the latest concussion. There was an article today talking about what good the concussion spotters are given that he was apparently not removed after the crash into the boards. Crosby is a fantastic player and I would hate to read about him having issues due to multiple concussions like some other athletes have 10 or 20 years after their playing days ended.
