Space X launching people today! Who's watching?

Back to the OP. The launch is scheduled for Saturday at 3:22 central time.
It looks like the weather may not cooperate again.
It's Florida. Sun, rain, lightning and thunder every day. You'd think they would have this figured out by now. Instantaneous launch window doesn't give a lot of leeway.

Yeah, the fuel system on the Falcon has to be maintained at the proper temperature for the duration of the launch window, which is not easily done. That's the main reason the Falcon's launch window is so tight.

Regarding the political thread & COVID discussion. I see @rickenvox's point, but honestly, the rant-to-useful information ratio is pretty high. The mods tried to keep it in Jack's Place for a while and even warned us to keep it on topic, but we failed.

Yeah, if memory serves me, the Shuttle was fully fueled for 3 days or so before launch. I distinctly remember being handed a nomex bunny suit with a triple insulated wallet pocket so they could check against our badges on the badge board near the pad 'after the explosion' :secret:

Well, yes, I know. I was a NASA contractor for 25+ years, worked shuttle and ISS missions til my hair turned gray. But I still think Musk is a twat.

And in other NASA news...

God help us.

I forgot... What buildings did you work in?

In '85 while with Northrup, I worked in Bldg. 7, 32 and 33.
Started the STSOC contract with Bendix/Allied Signal/USA/Cimarron (so many badge changes) in Bldg. 30, later adding support of PC's in 16, 5, 9, 45.

Launch time today is 15:22 Eastern.
