So....er....what do your monikers actually mean?

Mine's quite simple

I'm called Mark, I'm unhappy most of the time, and I like to inflict pain on people with my songs

My real name is Rick (OK Richard), at one time I was registering for some site and it required letters and numbers so I combined my name with the model number of my best guitar, my Rickenbacker 381v69. Thus I became Rick381. Not Rick381v69 because I'm to lazy to type all that.

There is a podcast I have listened to called "Welcome to Nightvale" which is a lot of fun. I think the Glowing Cloud was in the first episode.

Mine is also simple: my name is Hugo, and although not actually huge, I am taller than average, and have been nicknamed 'Huge' since my schooldays.
The origins of the definite article and underscore are obscure.

Excellent. I know all of your online passwords now.

Before we remodeled our kitchen, I was never on the computer. Wife wanted a big fricken stainless steel stove. All the makers were names I had never herd before: Wolf, DCS, Viking, others I can't remember. I registered on my first forum to ask questions, right after I was on a place called Apliance411. Since I was seeking info, thought it would fit. That and, Bob1 was already taken, and Bob2, and Bob3, ...

Mine is part of an email address I had when I was living on the west coast. Yeah..i'm lazy like that

Mine was an old unix system username I had in grad school. It has the first two letters of my first name (Tim), my middle initial (L), and my last name's first letter (T) followed by an abbreviation for Science Technology Architecture or something like that. Add it all up and you get TiLTSTA. I like it as it is NEVER taken as a username anywhere, but still looks like a name/word and not "new_user5674832_new:b_7979".

Way back when at HC I was PA_Pothole then they crashed and I didn't have my old password. I re-registered using a name from the Dr Seuss book I was reading to my kids. Foolish me thought HC would get their shit together and help me with my password.

Anyway, I just kept this after a while.

My first initial and my last name. I was on a number of forums and couldn't keep my screen names and passwords straight. This is easier.

I used to spend a lot of time on slashdot. A lot of people there think it's clever to refer to "American" as "USian" since they argue North America is a continent and the US is a country. So "American Pie" becomes "USian Pie".

Color me disappointed. I always assumed that was a nickname, and that there was an interesting story behind it.
