So....er....what do your monikers actually mean?

I went to school in Austin, TX and a favorite bar of mine was the Deep Eddy. When I decided to sign up here, I struggled for a user name and eventually " Deep Eddy" came to mnd. I haven't been back to Austin in years, but I believe the Deep Eddy is there.

There is a Austin-based company that makes Vodka using the name Deep Eddy now, too.

My last name is Jellema, pronounced JELL-uh-muh...when I was a kid the myriad ways that name could be bastardized (jellomar, jellEEma) eventually morphed into Jelloman...god did I hate it...I used to get really pissed off at it and react badly, as kids do, until I discovered that embracing it and playing off of it made them enjoy it less...now it's my primary identity, email, forum monikers, nickname (JEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)...

...the lower case first letter is just a signature of mine, I always sign my real name (david) lower case as well...

Mine was an old unix system username I had in grad school. It has the first two letters of my first name (Tim), my middle initial (L), and my last name's first letter (T) followed by an abbreviation for Science Technology Architecture or something like that. Add it all up and you get TiLTSTA. I like it as it is NEVER taken as a username anywhere, but still looks like a name/word and not "new_user5674832_new:b_7979".

I worked at a place where the usernames were prefixed by the department and ended in initials. It made perfect sense within the organization and absolutely no sense anywhere else. For instance, people in pathology were "patxxx" and people in biochemistry were "bcmxxx" -- so to the outside world it looked as if your email was simply random letters. How many people these days might open an email from bcmjkh (not my username)?

Coral = I used to keep coral reef tanks (hard and soft, lps, a few sps, tridacna clams, reef fish and crustaceans, etc.....)
Kong = nickname I got in high-school when I played soccer.

Didn't we already have this thread a few times?

I am Sea Devil

Sea Devils were an Alien race on Dr Who. I am a huge Science Fiction nerd. The "I am" Part is a nod to the movie "The Thing you do". The drummer says "I am Spartacus"

I was at BMX contest and someone asked me how I got so good. I answered

"I am Sea Devil"

They looked like this

Signing up for AOL back in their day and I need a screen name. I'm a huge David Gilmour fan, so... LOL

BTW, @IamSeaDevil, my phone's text notification sound is their TARDIS landing.

In my guitar journey relatively short guitar journey I have explored many guitars to see if I can find "the one" that will be my life long companion. I may have found that very guitar, and I'll let you know when it arrives - it's still in California. Yep, it's a Strat. No matter where I wander in my search for the perfect guitar, I always seem to gravitate back to the Strat, sooooo Stratguy just seemed appropriate, if not too terribly original.

Mine is rather obvious I think. Truth be told, it's all about the escapism and partially the lifestyle. Back in the day, you would likely find me outdoors somewhere, enjoying whatever was in front of me.
