Dig it! Paisley Fabric Ibanez Project

I am off work for 10 days and wanted a project to do. I bought this ibanez for $100, took the stock pups out and added a dimebucker in the bridge and an sh-14 in the neck and just pulled the middle pickup (pickups laying around from other projects). Sh-14 sounds really good in the neck, huge, first guitar I have ever thought of just having a neck pickup for, but it's hot and I don't like the dimebucker. So, I am putting a lower resistance parker neck pup in with the sh-14 in the bridge, doing a black and white paisley (beige with the bare wood under it) black burst front and back, and a tru-oiled neck. I watched some videos and did what most others have done, spread epoxy on bare wood, lay trimmed piece of fabric (a little oversized) on the wet epoxy, rub it, add more epoxy, smooth, and remove excess epoxy. Never done this before, so far it's a blast!

Got the edges cleaned up pretty good and cut out the cavities, now I have to wait a while longer before doing the back, let the slow drying epoxy finish setting. I would definitely consider a faster setting epoxy next time. Good thing about the slow stuff is you can work it for hours till it sits just right.

Yes. If I wouldn't have been in such a hurry to start I could have put down a white base to really bring out the white in the fabric, but I am happy with the color as it is.
