OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

I, too, fear the attempts at changing laws in regards to that. Fortunately I think there are enough good people in Congress that will oppose such things.
I'm not so sure. Paul Ryan is already working on ways to kill Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I fear dark days ahead.

To worry at this point in time is useless. Stay informed and watch for options. Mental health is not going to be shoved aside because of the outrageous incidents that have occurred over the last several years. It cannot go back to being ignored. So don't let the fear mongers antagonize you.
I've seen how the mental health cuts in Illinois have slashed services under governor Rauner. I assure you, I have good reason to be nervous about this.

That may go away but something will have to be put in place. It's no longer something that can be ignored like it doesn't exist.

the GOP's view of things is this: if you can't afford things....tough shit. we're not paying for it. and that's how the GOP has been for 30 years.

their version of "smaller government" is cutting all the social programs.

but more wars are ok......more spy departments are ok......the patriot act is ok.
yea...that's NOT bigger government.

“I don’t know how to put this, but to some people the NFL is basically modern-day slavery,” Baldwin says. (the above is a message he received via social media).

The above is from a very interesting SI article covering a whole lot about football. This comes from Chapter 4 of the very long article, which addresses race relations, and some of the protests the football players have engaged in, and the reaction. Worth a read. Pretty eye opening about what these guys see in their "fan mail", and what people are capable of. http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/11/16/football-in-america-roger-goodell-college-football

I was poor and out of work under the GOP and myself, my wife, and my children were cared for when they got sick. I'm sick of the bullshit. GOP's in the house we're gonna lynch people. Man, knock that shit off man. If a door shuts you have be smart enough to look for another and another.

THen quit and get a real job is you don't like it. This is not new and a president change didn't start it. Ever been to Philly?

I've seen too much of it in real life. Things get worse under GOP administrations. It happened with Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. I don't trust the GOP anymore.

I never said one, . . . not ONE, word about our president elect in regards to this issue. I was posting about the race issue. But since you bring him up, I agree he didn't cause it. He just used it to help get himself elected. As to the rest of your remarks, . . . Please take a moment to reflect on what you wrote there and reconsider it.

Get off your fucking asses, get out of your fucking houses, and go make a change in something. If you have concerns don't write them here call and write your elected officials. Doing so is just as easy as writing it here and you should do it as often as you write stuff here if you truly give a shit about your concern. Because this is just a bunch of fucking hot air.

Jesus Christ I was able to get great jobs and great care under those presidents and made good money.

I know what I wrote and what I've heard at professional games I've attended in Washington, Baltimore, Denver, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, and Florida. IT's been that way for decades and the remarks fly based on the player and race and whatever they can say to them to get under their skin.

THat includes the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

I've also seen a lot of reports about hate crimes carried out by Trump supporters over the last week. As an LGBTQ person, I'm very aware of my surroundings in the city. Thankfully, I live in a good, liberal city like Chicago.
