My CV tele rebuild thread.

Not sure what the downside would be. But maybe there is a consideration I am not aware of.

The only thing I can think of is that the 4 way switch has a slightly longer throw than the regular. Do they block the volume knob even worse than the standard blade switch?

Good question. So I got out a 3 way switch I had in my parts box and compared it to the 4 way I am installing. No difference.

I'd like to replace the pickups and the rest of the electronics on my CV without over spending, so this thread is very welcome.

If your haven't already pulled the trigger, there are a few folks on eBay that have wiring harnesses for a Tele with a 4-way switch instead of the 3 and they are a little cheaper than what you are looking at. I just got one with the treble bleed mod for about $30. The control plate isn't included but you already have that. Mine was also reversed, so the volume knob is up front instead of the switch.

Cool.
Seller name or link?

I was just on the All Parts site looking for hardware for a Franken-Tele build ( again ). Digging some of your choices.

I've got a four way switch on mine too. I almost never use the extra position but I like knowing the added versatility is there.

I have a four way on my McFeely (plus a few bonus tricks :embarrassed:) and it's awesome. I use all of the positions, especially when recording.
This will be my only tele for a while so I guess it's worth it as long as the three "normal" tones are there.

I'm not really sure why I am putting one in either. I almost never use anything but the bridge pickup.
I use my 4th position all the time. I really like the sound of the P90 neck stacked with the A3 "Rockwind" bridge BG pickups made for me. It is a big, saturated sound.

I have most of the parts here for my tele build. The neck has been ordered and everything else is here or on its way except pickups. I was going to go with TV Jones, but I am having a hard time dropping $245 on pickups. I am going to have to figure out what to get.
