I've got the greatest guitar of them all!

the only part that i'm enjoying is the idea of collaboration between you and John Watt. the possibility of the two of you working together can only result in an even bigger disaster than each of your projects on their own.

I can't imagine why you'd think either of our projects had any disastrous aspects other than something to your perspectives??? Perhapse a safety issue with the construction techniques?

Or could it be the precision and quality of the luthier work?

Wow, ever feel like you made a difference for once (6:30 news sounded like they read my article)? I put my article link all over the comments to the big news papers when they started blaming the victims. I also noticed someone else anomalously gave a similar description of the science (in much more detail). Seems it may have been 1 too many voices for science like mine brought reality to light and the NHTSA finally called for help (NASA).

And get a load of this other “tip” to NHTSA in 2006: Martin Mason, Actel Corp (05/31/2006) http://www.eetimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=188702274 “Imagine this: You are driving 75 miles per hour down the highway in your new 2006-model listening to Steve Miller's Greatest Hits —suddenly the engine management system or the stability control fails. Not only could you be in a serious or possibly fatal accident, but the car manufacturer's reputation could be in jeopardy if you aren't the only one in a similar situation.”

if you're listening to Steve Miller's Greatest Hits, then you deserve what you get.

Transmitter addition

I just bought the4 transmitter. It doesn't have the dynamic range the wire had but at least it has some mobility (still not the yard or travel).
It's wired into the Fender FM25DSP.

I can connect it to either the input jack or out-jack (of the amp in the guitar) to the transmitter. I actually do like to switch because I don't yet have a toggle switch to keep the speaker live with the out-jack in use. The good thing of transmitting the output jack is the effects controls come with the guitar while I walk around the house.

As far as the value of the amp while externally amp'd it obviously depends on what I'm playing. I do like to hear it a little while I'm a little further away from the amp. Funny there becomes a distance delay for what I hear from the amp vs from the actual guitar.

Thus again I'm liking this setup. I'm starting to think I may want to re-make one of the other ones for cut-tails, tx, mic, and better luthier work (still would be ameturish). I also still need to figure out the mic-preamp-mix circuitry. Will drop a line or a pic when I get more.

what the hell is wrong with steve miller? and fwiw, i think this whole power guitar thing is kinda cool... would damn sure make campfire jams a little easier...

Steve Miller: mediocrity at it's mediocre-est.

this guitar: steaming pile

campfire jams: electricity, even battery powered, not allowed.

first off, the steve miller band was one of the greats, hence the greatest hits album still being in print today, or a GREATEST HITS album period... where is your greatest hits album?

second, you're from new york city, i really wouldn't expect you to know a fucking thing about campfires or bonfires period, little lone a campfire or bonfire jam...

third, you bag on this guy for taking a microcube and integrating it into a dean acoustic v... well, where is your inovation? what have you to offer that's different?

fourth, take that condescending bullshit back to HC... nobody needs it or wants it... go back over there with the rest of the condescenders who are so self loathing that they have to talk down to others...

And so on, there are like 10 more pages of similar stuff in google images. I remember them selling this crap at sears when I was a kid...30 years ago. Not exactly a new concept. You have managed to invent the guitar with a built in amp and speaker.....again.

Hope the campfire jams at least allow acoustic guitars. That's one reason I'm still hesitant to put an amp into my old-favorite Carlos 24QK. I do have a back porch, patio, and a few semi-public (park/church/etc) where just a little more than the ol acoustic is very nice to have. And the acceptability in those locations goes more to what and how played than the equip. Thus portability thing really spans a lot of interests. I'm also becomming a fan of the Dean V because I like the feel of it compared with other guitars. Hard to say what gives a guitar that - familiarity with such does help too.

yea. Sorry if I annoy then pleas just skip thread... I do think I'm contributing experience in the amp-in-cross-over project sharing. It's an old story and old concept. Worse, I'm not even a pro luthier or guitar tech or player. Just an engineer who noticed the street-amps were technology ready to go into a guitar and the Dean V-acoustic made that easier.

The amp-in with transmitted remote power is quite an odd set of effects to mix and work with. Not to mention the delay when over 30' from the amp. Someone posted a pre-amp they had wired onto their electric guitar. That's concept is looking better and better as I still need something better mix and distribute while adding a mic and transmitter to the built in features. Anyone know the model of a Gr8 preamp (9v DC or at least DC)?

Thanks again for the thread-views and ideas.

Hi Tiltsta. The concept was around before I started playing in the 80s but I had never personally seen anything better than the recent toys (eBayed a First Act (similar to the 4th pic)). Anyway, what I do think I've steped forward with is a full size guitar with a battery that lasts modeled amp, and 5" speaker (benefits of Roland MC). It's not such a hard thing to do either. And as I'm building and enjoying them I'm a little surprised how few others seem to be doing similar things. There's John and another guy with the pre-amp, and then all I've seen are a bunch of cigar boxes (which are cool for what they are too). Thus hope you can enjoy what's here for what it is. Thanks for the views,
Elliott

Man, the rudeness of some people in this this thread is amazing.
Hope I never have deal with you in real life.
