I've got the greatest guitar of them all!

Don't listen to these dicks...that's awesome. I'll take one.

Thanks for asking. Surely it WAS for a time. I've cut my prices considerably and could go further or be persuaded by a story. $profit wasn't the point of the hobby... instead it was building what I've wanted for a very long time that seemed obvious 20 years ago, and now is undeniable as I've PROVEN.

At this point of the 3 I built 2 are "disposable" in that I may give or sell them at any time and depending on the $ element of that I could build bigger/better or be poking along with what I've got. The other extreme from high price was to smash one or start a $1 auction. Both those concepts are valid too.. but did what I did... gonna do what I wanna do... hope the price is more attractive now since that would provide some awesome start-over type of parts. But the flip side is that the snow is almost gone, daylight sav time is here, the electric bike, and I need some car-parts for the windmill project, and so-on-it-goes ...

It will be interesting to see if I still have the best guitar by later in the summer. It's sooooo perfect for street music.

Never Admit Whats Not True!

Dude, admit it. The third one is disposable too.

I think you mean the 1st built. But no admission here.

For me there's no going back to dead guitars without live strings.

The 1st built is pretty rough with too much wood already cut but as long as I can keep it playable its my PRIMARY guitar. If I ruin it, I will replace it as fast as I can build another but so far so good!

I've got 5 other guitars within reach plus a few more stored but none of those are getting any significant play time any more. I do believe it will stay that way just like it did with the Carlos 24QK for over 20 years (plays better than what was for sale ever seen).

Hey! I feel sorry for you. I saw the reception you got at Harmony Central, and see some of the same attitude here. I went through the same thing with my semi-solid-guitar invention, but it worked out okay up to today. I hope you notice me typing invention. That means I have something nobody else has. There have been a few amplified guitars manufactured, the sixties still the wildest time for electrics, so I don't think your guitar is extra-ordinary. I think mine is, so I'm challenging you.

Please, click my address and check out the videos and see if you think I've got something more than unique.

I will only buy your primary guitar. Your obviously selling your prototypes that are useless.

Hi John. It's nice to finally "meet you" you here. You've been mentioned a few times as though I troll similarly well. Of coarse I was inventing not trolling (and gained that impression of you also). Saw your page and some unusual playing also! Good stuff and you have my respect.

Hi Jake.
What I have is 3 that I've built with 2 for sale on eBay. The first-built began with a micro amp and then the Roland Micro Cube but it had been cut clear open on the top-side. Without the amp in it being well glued it no longer stays in tune. While it was in such a state of crap I had bought 2 more guitars and amps thinking I'd keep 1 and sell 1 and retire the first one. After making both of those better than the crappy 1st they were for sale and I then fixed the 1st and even cut the tails off of it (still hand't mounted the battery holder which is now in the tali-cut-opening). Since that repaired the 1st to original and it was clear how it's better pickup helped I chose to upgrade the pickups on the other 2 which remain for sale.

So the one I call my primary guitar is the one with the most glue and the ugliest of them. The other 2 have slightly better action, and the ML has a full 22 frets. But I do like the de-tailed shape for myself. I'm also working to include a pre-amp and mic on the first-built (still proto-typing with it). And with it's overall condition of so much missing wood and glue-to keep tune... I woun't feel right about selling it since it may fail after a year or so (will see).

On the 2 which are for sale a de-tailing operation is possible with negotiation but I would caution that I'm not a professional luthier and my cuts in them so-far are just minimal for inserting parts. The de-tailing is a major cut/fill/glue/etc. Someone could also pay a prefessional to do something similar (i would if I had such cash w/o tools).

OK I just took this image and uploaded since I didn't have any current. Here they are (left to right = 2nd built, 3rd built, 1st built/prototype)

Best Guitar Challenge

Per suggested challenge here's my suggested criteria. I do think many others have far better luthier skills. It's just that I believe the Power Guitar concept is aimed at a particular cross-over between electric guitars and acoustic guitars that goes so far beyond the current niches of toys and travel guitars that I for one was motivated to build.

So do we agree with this idea of a spec for the target concept? Based on this spec my implementations are the best I've yet seen but there are other examples and the Idea has been round since the beginning because of it's merit (IMHO). The primary enabler for me in this build was the Roland Micro Cube and Dean V. There are other better building blocks for others with more cash and I would love to see someone's real products get going. So how is this for an ideal guitar spec?

Power Guitar Specification
Acoustic-guitar-mobility
Electric-guitar-modeled-amp-variability-in-sound (acoustic-like <--> shred)
Full-size-neck
Very-long-battery-life
Total-weight < 7lbs
Live-Strings (hendrix-like feedback-lockup possible (like a hugh stack))
2x-sound-volume of an acoustic (before feedback)
Option: Microphone, strap, ornamentation, ...

Semi-solid-body would help amp-in-guitar!

John emphasizing acoustic and electric combination

Hay john. Any chance you'd float me one of those I could put an amp into? I like the tapping to test the resonance of it. Obviously better qualities than just a pure acoustic body start.
