It's been about five years

I can never seem to smile in a selfie. I am actually quite happy with it. I went to a new place in town and explained what I had in mind. She asked about a photo so I brought up a current picture of Bob Weir. I think she did a good job; it has length and style.
Good idea going for a Weir cut. Are you going to get serious about pumping iron like Bob? :thu:

When I retired I was like o boy I can let my freak flag fly. It was fun for few years but I kept getting balder and balder on top until it was the definitive skullet. I got tired of hiding it with a hat and wasting money and time on shampoo. So during the pandemic I bought clippers, buzzed it off and shaved it. Did that for a while but that got to be a hassle too.
So now I just get a buzz cut and beard trim from the barber every 6-8 weeks for $15 bucks. "#1 on the head, #2 on the face". Done in 5 min.

You're going to a barber that works out of a beauty salon and charges salon prices?

I've been to my barber twice and I couldn't be happier. My hair cuts at the salon would take a week to not look weird. Barber dude's cut looks good right out of the gate. He doesn't talk politics. I think he plays guitar too. I haven't chatted him up too much.
I don't even know what salon prices are. Barber shop was $10. Salon is $20.

Because of the pandemic and the shops closed around here, after that one time my wife bought a Wahl clipper set from Amazon for $20 and she cuts my hair now. Best stylist ever

I paid 30 and gave a 6 dollar tip. My ex stylist was 60 with the tip.

I've been dropping subtle hints to lower the price. It hasn't worked.

Barbers around here want to go right to the clippers. They greet you with, "What's your number?" No thanks, I'll pay for the stylist.

Because of my.... unique coif... I've had some really bad experiences with simple random stylists. One place where my stylist of several years left the salon and I overheard a couple of the stylists being afraid of trying to style my hair. :lmbo:

There are some clippers involved around my neck and temples, but the majority of it is measuring out handfuls of hair and then point cutting the ends so I don't just look like a fuzzball. :helper:
