Even Andy Deserves Good BEans
I'm glad this biking thread seems to be the most popular thread. I prefer mountain biking myself as I dont trust cars much. Plus i'm a dirt guy. What's the worst thing that could happen? You bust your hand and cant play guitar? No. Getting snatched by the neck by a mountain lion tops that. Fortunately I have yet to sustain any significant injuries. My worst was going over the bars due to my bar ends hooking on a bush while going to fast on a night ride. I got a mild concussion from that one. It's all part of the process right? (No Andy). All in all I will take measures to not get injured and enjoy biking as long as I can. I will take a little risk over spin class all day long. I'm digging the tubeless vs tubes debate. I'm running tubeless now. It is a pain when you have to re seal though.
either good luck or the tires but I would have never made it on my other bikes. Even still it beat the crap out of me and I doubt the other bikes would have been able to go 30' (I rode 2 miles on that crap before getting back on normal crappy gravel). Brakes are mechanical which are fine by me since I think maintaining those will be more straightforward than hydraulic. Eventually I might swap out the groupset but I'll wait a while and see first. I put 220 miles on it in a couple of weeks with the longest ride being 38 miles (the same ride as the gnarly trail) so I've got some seat time and found it pretty comfortable for the most part and great for the area
I don't think I'd let it out of my sight
