A little different type of music from what I usually choose, but Dwight Yoakam seems to fit the bill to an extent. Perhaps not as clearly as some of the others mentioned, but seems to me he should receive more credit than he gets.
 
Anybody mention Paul Gilbert yet? I'm obviously not good at following previous posts. :grin:

1 — this is not the ‘songs about depression’ thread

2 — even if it was, that thread is about music ABOUT depression, not music that CAUSES depression

I expect a lot of people will be jumping on the Nick Cave wagon, but I think you should get out ahead of that and start working on Mark Lanegan.
