For me the most dangerous local animal is probably a badger, which have an unpleasant disposition but are not really dangerous.

If we include venomous animals it is probably the European common viper. The are rare and tend to not be near people, and flee when the see humans.

Overall country's most dangerous animal is probably the gray wolf. Rare and restricted to the high alpine regions, but are effective pack hunters and can take down large game.

Country here is like the size of New Jersey, so feel free to go with your state or region if you live in a big country.

What dangers await you in your area?

Moose.

By far, statistically. Due to highway traffic accidents.

Anything else would be an extremely rare event.

Bears, but it's extremely rare that you find them anywhere near people.
Polar bears up in Svalbard on the other hand...don't go anywhere near them if you're not armed with at least a rifle.

A few wolves up here as well, but they're not really a danger to people.
As far as while driving, elk (or moose). Crash with one of those at a fairly high speed and you're most likely dead. At the very best, a totalled car and a lengthy hospital visit.
Shitloads of accidents involving them every winter here.

My first thought is bears, as they are frequently seen in our area, often with cubs. However, I just read that a bobcat was seen catching a rabbit in a local yard, so it is a toss up.

Moose. They’re rare but they do wander into town from time to time. At least with a rattlesnake you have a chance to get to a hospital. But if a moose tramples you then you’re probably going to die before the ambulance gets there..

in the immediate city, my neighborhood we get Javelina and coyotes. In the surrounding mountains we have Mountain Lions

Eastern Timber Rattle snakes, although rarely seen. Mostly seen on a trail in the park I walk often.

Wolfs, seem to be mostly north of us.

Bears, although if they're from Chicago they're mostly harmless

Snakes (rattlers, copperheads, water mocs), black bear, bobcats, coyotes...there is a small population of red foxes around as well, but they are pretty shy...

No wild boars down there? I saw a badger just the other night, high tailed it as soon as it noticed the car coming, but Boars DGAF and will run right alongside the car, maybe attack the car if it feels annoyed.

around Toledo?? stupid people driving stupid.

a few miles up the road into Michigan? all kinds of stuff. Wolverines, Wolves, snakes of various kinds and of course the militias.

Rattlesnakes mostly.
In the mountains to the East there are plenty of elk. I wouldn't want to hit one while driving up there.

Rattlesnakes and the odd rabid coyote.

And there are eagles and hawks if you are a small dog.

Also, like some posts above, deer are probably statistically the most dangerous due to collisions with cars.
