What fast food joint is your state/city famous for?

Dogue in teh desert
I 'm marathoning a fast food show on Amazon prime so it got me thinking California is probably the capitol of Fast food start ups but I'm not sure...

What one(s) have come from your area?

I looked up AZ and I guess we are famous for Stone cold creamery BUT on the show I'm watching they said The guy who started A & W (root beer) orignally bought his root beer recipe from a pharmacist in Tempe , AZ and they claim A & W to be the first fast food franchise (older than White Castle) starting in 1916 i think. So in a roundabout way fast food started in AZ *spits*...we made 'merica fat !!!!!

I think there's only one location left :(

I'd love to know how the average life span in your state compares with the national average. :embarrassed:

Funny but there's actually less fat people here than middle America. I don't eat the hamburgers at all, but was turned on to Taco Bell's Seven Layer Burrito by a vegetarian friend. You order it without sour cream, the beans have no lard, and it's actually not too bad for you. Zankou chicken is to die for, fairly healthy if you don't overeat. Koji's Korean Tacos are to kill for.

I’m sure that some small fast food chains started in Colorado. But nothing notable.

Seems that the only chain thing started in PA was Winky's, which isn't a thing anymore. Was hardly a thing then, peaking at 42 outlets in the seventies.

I hate to say Cheesesteaks because that's so Philly, but I can't think of anything else.

Edit: Pleased to see Primanti Bros. Is branching out so well. I see a trip to Altoona in the future next time I'm home.

We only have a few of the US fast food chains, and they are not all that popular. There isn't a local fast food chain. The concept of fast food doesn’t really fit with how people here think about meals.
