What are your current biggest pet peeves with regards to fashion at the moment ?

It's exactly like when you are with someone who says "Yeah... I've never actually seen any of those Star Wars movies.... are those the ones with Doctor Spock?"

 :embarrassed:

Hey I know my dilithium crystals from the Death star as well as the next guy

Just last night at work I punched in, started to walk past the Ford Escape door panel line, and a young guy walked past me going the other way.

He was wearing one of those oversized flat-brim baseball caps sideways, a zip-up hoodie (in the summer in a hot non-a/c factory? ), shorts that looked like PJ's, and a pair of those short cowboy boots that barely come up past the ankle, with black socks that came up almost to his knees.

Talk about a mismash of styles

My thought is maybe he lost a bet, having to dress like that?

Lets talk professional mens wear. I dont have much use for it anymore nor do I interact much these days with people who do. But I have noticed a concerning advertising trend online. Tight "high water britches" riding 2" above the shoes with hidden socks and a sport coat that is about 2 sizes two small and a shirt so tight the buttons are about to pop off. I dont care if you are young and thin and go to the gym and all that, that ridiculous get up makes you look like a 18 yr old teenager trying to wear the Easter suit your Mom got you when you were 12.

Sounds like all the local news guys these days...

I went to a restaurant tonight wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and motorcycle boots. I don’t think anybody noticed but they sure did notice the noise from the six well dressed and very drunk women at another table.

Its been my experience you can always get by in all black for most any occasion except maybe a July 4th beach party, even if you're a bit off the mark formality wise.

I used to dislike cargo shorts, hoodies and baseball caps. Now I tend to wear cargo shorts, hoodies and baseball caps a lot. After we moved to the countryside, my wardrobe has gradually become rather outdoorsy, I guess. I don't do socks in sandals though. Actually I don't do sandals at all, but I could use a good pair of wellies. Might even pick up a puffer vest soon.

I think cargo pants are kind of silly because the only time I ever used all the pockets was to stuff plastic bags in before taking the dogs on a long walk. But I love the way cargo pants fit. I got too fat to wear the ones I had and threw them out and now I don’t know where to buy them because Target stopped selling them and I don’t have a Costco membership. So now I just wear gym shorts when I walk the dogs because I’m old enough to not give a fuck.

I basically live in jeans and black or charcoal grey t-shirts nearly every day. In cold weather I layer on top of the same base layer. I do need to buy more jeans because I lost 15 lbs and none of my pants fit any more. And I'm not a common size so I pretty much need to try pants on. Online sales are hit and miss because I hate returning stuff, but I like to buy domestic made clothes when I can. Which eliminates 90% of all brands.

I always wear the tried and tested : jeans, t-shirt and casual trainers. If it’s cool outside, i’ll wear a jumper or hoodie I can take off when i am too warm.

Fashion....I can't keep up.

Yea thats my basic uniform as well. I'l layer the tee w a flannel, a long sleeve collar, hoodie, or a trucker jacket. In summertime I'll sub out the jeans for chinos or shorts. Jeans can get unbearable in the hot Alabama humidity.
Right now Ive got a t shirt fit quandary. At proper belly fat ratio I wear a large, if Im a little swole I need an x-large, but then the shoulders and sleeves tend to be oversized. Most of my current Ts are larges, but I fattened up over lockdown and have been too lazy to loose it, so Im wearing more polos and casual short sleeve collars in situations where I give a damn.
