What are your current biggest pet peeves with regards to fashion at the moment ?

My biggest pet peeve with fashion at all moments is the notion that we should buy things for stupid prices and then shortly thereafter throw them away, instead of buying quality products and holding on to them, simply for the sake of conspicuous consumption.

I have zero interest in being the thing Fashion wants me to be; a peacock with debt.

I’ve never seen a woman with heels and a designer handbag in Colorado but I see plenty wearing shoes and jackets from REI.

There used to be a lot of ladies downtown during the work week (in Denver) that dressed up in heels and designer stuff. I'm not sure now, but otherwise you are pretty much dead on. Columbia and Patagonia pretty much sponsor the state.

I only wear the Dickies 874 for pants, both work and casual…pretty much the only pants I’ll wear anymore. Super durable ( my currents work ones are 1 1/2 years old and washed weekly. Insanely comfy, roomy. Lightweight free range motion and stand up to grease monkey work, hiking or lounging on the sofa. Seriously one of the best products every of any man made goods and only 32 bucks.

I've made a point of buying UK made jeans and shoes lately and the difference in quality is well worth it.

America definitely, for better or worse, knows how to do denim.

I've always been a big proponent of use the best materials and products from the best location. German engineered metal work, British leatherwork, Italian styling, Japanese electronics, Canadian and North American hardwoods mixed with South American exotic woods.

Cars, guitars, fashion.... they all kinda follow similar patterns of inexpensive Asian imports that get the job done, that sweet spot of quality and function but you'll have to pay a bit more, and then over the top absurdly expensive stuff that defies logic but the wealthy will buy it because they can.

I haven’t bought jeans in over a decade but I mean there is a wide variety of jeans and most these days fall into two , well three categories….very industrial ones like say carhartt, wrangler, etc …..leisure style that are thin with stretch material or lastly 200 dollar plus selvedge denim. The Japanese I understand have the highest quality ones.

I just hate them in the same way I hate skinny pants because they are not comfortable. I also don’t like the slightly higher ones (1or 2inch “cuff” ) I have no problem with higher 3or4 inch ones like from DeFeet or Sockguy but crew is where it’s at, I just scrunch ‘‘em down unless I’m going to south central LA then I wear my Extra long Dickies shorts with white tank top undershirt , slip on vans and white crew socks pulled all the way up
