What are you listening to right now?

Watching R30. Red Barchetta currently. I probably spelled that wrong.

I have a shit time trying to get good surf-y reverbs with the gear I get. You either can't hear the verb or you can't hear the guitar.

I use the Amplitube sim of the Fender outboard reverb. It set dwell and tone to 6, mix is usually pretty low for leads, like 2.5. For palm mutey stuff you can put the mix really high, like 6 again, and it will sound like the Astronauts.

I usually only play surf stuff on gigs so I'm trying to get the sound out of a TC Hall of Fame reverb.

Brad Paisley, Hollywood Fats Band and Martina McBride

Gotta reload the iPod for the heavy stuff again - Pragestock prep.

Let's see.....Damn Yankees, Judas Priest, Rush, Iron Maiden,.......

I bet it's another one of those Belden Brick-based reverbs (like most digital boutique reverbs). They sound too much like jumbled up slap back delays for me, in general.

You never know, Brian stuff is pretty darn good. I own Hermida's Reverb and yes you can hear a slight slap back but I don't use it for surf anyway - it is now part of my acoustic rig which is perfect. Like Mark I too have a Hall of Fame. Never had an issue there.

Getting back to the Wampler, I bought the Faux Analog Delay last month after trying it out. It was just too good for words as it blends perfectly where other delays for me haven't. This reverb is way to new so no clips where available yet.

Tin Machine
Haven't listened to this in almost 20 years! I fondly remember the work of Reeves Gabrels.
