What are you listening to right now?

Friday is the one day I will whip out the headphones at work and have tunes.

Right now it is King Crimson - Great Deceiver (Disc 2).

Right now, this.

Try it out even if you hate prog. Kick ass fretless bass, and a beautiful tune imo.

I have been on quite a Doors kick lately. I started the day off with some Texas Radio & The Big Beat (throb throb).

I just picked these up and am giving them a listen.

I have listened to Jason's 1 time through and haven't finished the Olms yet, but so far I am liking them both.

Damn I forgot how out of tune Plant is on this.

I don't mind his pitch on "Fool In the Rain" - I think he sells it. "All of My Love," less so - those choruses get pretty rocky.

Oh yeah - I'm listening to the most recent album by The Joy Formidable. Specifically, this track:

New City and Colour!

Wow, I like. What's cool about threads like this is the exposure to bands and musicians some of us may not have listened to otherwise.

Some people say they don't like new or recent music. I collect so much, I have difficulty finding enough time to get enough listens in!

I've been a C&C fan for quite awhile (and a fan of his previous band, alexisonfire) and he just keeps getting better. It's definitely a new direction, but I dig it.

John Fullbright - From The Ground Up
This new, young songwriter impresses me with his lyrics and emotional, expressive music. He easily fits in the so called "Americana roots" genre, plays most of the instruments and is credited for 50% of the album's production. It might take a few listens to "get it" but worth checking out if you are into this kind of music.
