What are you listening to right now?

New Paula Cole, but previously was listening to the new Alice Russell. Paula's coming off as too broody and Alice was more synthy than I usually like, but still good.

Santana-Abraxas + Blue Cheer-Vincebus Eruptum + ABBA-Waterloo = Goat-World Music

It's truly awesome.

I also listened to the new Steve Martin album with Edie Brickell doing the vocals. It's really quite good if you like bluegrassy music.

Yes, that Steve Martin...he's one wild and crazy guy, but a rather conservative banjoist (meant respectfully as not everyone is nor needs to be Bela).

Jamming along to commentary from Sussex CCC v Warwickshire CCC at Hove. Deep joy of BBC local radio on t'internet!

Downloaded this ages ago, and I'm just now listening to it for the second time. I'm diggin' it this time through! :thu:

Although I still prefer their rival band, McCoy's Merkin. :embarrassed:

Can't stop listening to this one (the whole album as well fwiw).
Guthrie Govan's lead from about 5:embarrassed:0 and out is just marvellous.

One of the guys in the office is listening to country. One of the other guys is listening to Yelawolf.

I've got some CoB blast beats and riffs rumbling through my head.

It's interesting, to say the least.

Very nice solo. The rest of it I was pretty "meh" on.

It is the most low key tune on the album to be fair, and the one tune most resembling Porcupine Tree.

One other much more upbeat fave is Holy Drinker, which has some really cool drumming in particular.

Peter Gabriel - So (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

By the time this was originally released, I no longer listened to Peter Gabriel. Maybe it was the over saturation playing of "Red Rain", "Sledgehammer", "Big Time", and "In Your Eyes" that did it in.
What really kicks ass here are the "Live In Athens 1987" CD's.

I've been listening to the new material we're working on - Joss Stone's "Somehow" and "Don't Start Lying to Me Now", "The Story" by Brandi Carlile and "Little by Little" by Susan Tedeschi. We've got a high dollar wedding anniversery gig comming up with requests for Dave Matherws "Crash", the Foo Fighters "Times Like These" and Black Eyed Peas "Tonights Gonna Be a Good Good Night", so I'm adding them to the rotation.
