There's a guy on Youtube who does lessons under the name of Red Lasner who has a nice double-cut Vox with these pickups. Sounds pretty good

I think it's just one side of the pups being jacked up.

Could be. It originally had mini humbuckers in it, but when Mike Ness got it, he threw in P90s and made a bunch of great music with it.

If $1k is a strict limit for you then you might be out of luck. But I'd bet either of these could be had for $1,200 or less.
Also, the "circa 2008" thing is the second listing is nonsense.
