What’s the Lamest Thing You Enjoy?

Sitting around in a circle with a bunch of songwriters and swapping songs.

Spike's Breezeway Cocktail Hour on Friday night on YouTube. Why is it lame to do? Because I don't drink. Yet every Friday at 8:30 central I'm sitting at my computer eager awaiting the latest episode.
I got into it because I'm a big fan of Spike's hulabilly surf band The Hula Girls. Sometimes he also has excessively cute guests on.

I have made a customer $3,500 worth of BattleBot parts. He hopes to have a contender in 2-3 years. All of the parts have been for his fifteen inch diameter air bearing.
He says he can spin the bearing at night, and it will still be spinning in the morning.
Air bearing, absolutely.

Owning dozens of fuzz pedals, and still adding to the herd, only to find none match maybe 2 or 3 for totally awesome tone.

And reading @Peen Simmons posts. It is literally like reading the paperwork that comes with prescriptions from the pharmacy.

Oh, golf and Rush too.

Going to foreign countries to watch birds and having maybe a handful of people digging your stories.

I do things like go to Amsterdam just to enjoy the scenery. And your list sounds like extravagant good times of my life things to me.

Oh, and I love the McRib. Could get them every day over here if I wished, but I sadly have to eat at home mostly.

My liking hometown team American football and the tailgating scene that goes along with it, and also surf/ski/skate/snowboard/mountain bike culture. I take ridiculous amounts of enjoyment out of my participation in this last thing.

I don’t think hometown football and tailgating is lame in the sense that Peen is looking for. There were an estimated 200k people at LSU this past weekend for a football game. Snobs will look down their noses at it, but most people tend to dig it, which makes it not lame.

And I’m with you, when we lived in the city, we were only a few miles from the stadium. Had plenty of good times walking or riding bikes to campus and eating and drinking all day.

Well, was thinking that the scenes I am talking about are a bit like the debauched gatherings such as St. Paddy's day, New Orleans/Bourbon Street, etc. he was mentioning. Though lamer in some respects in some crowds trying to one up each other on hot dog chunks in bbq sauce with tooth picks in a crock pot vs. cheese plates and who has the biggest RV, etc. I would be trying to find the more debauched crowd offending the RV people, however, and they are usually rovers grazing off the feasts put out by others.

Easy - Half bottle of Buckfast, chilled and drank out of an empty 500ml Diet Coke bottle (no glass or cans allowed) on my supporters bus to the football.

Cost of living crisis strikes: £1.50 for a coke or....
