One of the guys at the shop I usually frequent recommends the caskmates stout to people coming in looking to try whiskey, saying how smooth and rich it is....sounds like an on point reco by all accounts in this thread

I got a mini bottle of that caskmates stout last year as part of a three bottle set.
It must be good stuff because it’s the only one of the three that I finished.

Advent calendar started today with a world blend. It’s pretty good.

Blasphemous treatment of single malt, but in the interest of “science”, this was worth the watch.

Tonight’s dram is from Linkwood. Batch 7. 10 year old.

Floral, spring fresh aromas.
Medium body, but mediciney flavours.

I got the Elijah Craig old fashioned kit (one of the "gift sets" out this Christmas. Old fashioneds are, fittingly, a little passe, but I'm very much enjoying them. Elijah Craig is one of the best values in mainstream whiskey and the syrup in the kit is quite good.

This thread keeps reminding me I need to get stuck back into my whisky. Then my wine guy texts and I end up buying 4 cases at a time from him

I get in a wine mood from time to time but my reflux reminds me that whiskey sits better for some reason.
I can't figure it out.
