Walnut Hollowbody Build

It's getting there. A little streaking on the first top coat. I coulda went a little heavier but I don't want runs. Another coat will even it out.

Thanks.

The area around the neck has a lot of weird angles that makes even spraying tricky. Came out pretty good, though.

Holy shit! First it was stained dark, then you added some sort of weird whitewash to it (I was being nice when I said I liked that!) and now it's been painted!!! I'm expecting that in the end it will look something like this:

This is fascinating. I thought this white paint might yellow over time on account of the cream colored shellac under it. I didn't realize how much it already had changed til I looked at a couple of pics.

This is what the guitar looks like right now. It has one fresh coat of white and one fresh coat of clear. Quite a brilliant white.

This pic, I took yesterday. There were two coats of white paint on it already and it was white when the paint first went on. The pic was taken 24 hours after spraying and it had become this.

I'm shocked how much yellow it took on so fast. It'll be interesting to see if that final coat sealed it better and how much it changes over time.

Ill take more over time and we can see what happens. I'm told the Watco clear lacquer is a vintage nitrocellulose with no plasticizers and no UV inhibitors, so it should yellow over time as well.
