Ah, the coping saw comes through!

Now if I can make a radius sanding block, I'll be set to make my own fretboard. I found some printable templates online for fret spacing.

I wonder I I can make one from PVC pipe?

I mean, it just needs to be round with the right radius, no?

Cool.

The radius is pretty slight, isn't it? i mean, you'd need a bloody large PVC pipe to get that radius, right?

a 9.5 radius would be a 19" pipe. I.D.

Check metal supply places, even scrappers, for aluminum tube.

A 10.5" outside diameter tube with 1/4" thickness walls should give you what you need.
Get a piece a bit longer than the neck.
Get it sliced in half lengthwise and line the inside with sandpaper.
Mount the half pipe on a bench. Then just run the neck blank back and forth in the tube.

its a 10" radius fretboard. You'd need a 21" diameter tube or something like that.

Indeed. PVC pipe gets pretty big, though. I bet I can find a scrap somewhere.
Hmm, there's water line construction down the street.
