Walnut Hollowbody Build

I have this damn Lear Jet in my front yard i want gone . . .

But seriously. You are doing great work. That neck looks spectacular.

I can do that.

Thanks. This is a fun project.
If I don't destroy my shoulder cutting this board.

I did dig out my old fine tooth saw, though. It needed sharpened but it cuts with the grain much more smoothly than the other one.

Is there any guideline for how much space you should have between the bridge and trap tail?
I'm wondering if I need a shorty.

Using anhand plane and sanding block, i tuned the joint for the top and glued it up. As that dries, I'll begin making the first cuts on the body. Yay!

Only what I could before I glued. Looked ok then. Will know more tomorrow when I take the top out of the clamps.
I'm sure there will be se planing work to get everything tight.

 I weighed the body blank before I started cutting. 14 pounds.
I've already lost three pounds trimming half way round the edges.

I took the top out of the clamps and started cleaning it up a bit.
Here it is with a little thinner on it so you can see it better.
All I can say is that with grain like this, I think the black stain was a good idea. :embarrassed:
