Walnut Hollowbody Build

I need to decide on a body shape real soon, I guess. Still leaning towards copying my son's LP and scaling it up to 14.5".

Here we go. Now I think I have this where I want it. I also lightened the shade of the stain just a bit.

Very nicely done.

Probably wouldn't matter to me one way or the other. I have thought about just tracing the Silvertone.

If you go that way I'd think about under sizing it a bit...but since you rarely play beyond the 12th fret anywaynyou may like the trad shape better...

The Silvertone is 15.5" and my blanks are cut for 14.5". I have to scale it down a little.
Even if I do copy that one, ill still do a 16th fret neck join.

I think I will trim it a bit. The tuner holes are 12.5mm from the edge, the radii of the cuts near the nut are 50mm, the top circle is 25mm and the circle at the tip of the trc is 12.5mm.
It makes sense to me to place the edges of the trc at 25mm from the edge o the headstock.
Symmetry, you know. Proportion.
