WTF: This is the most terrifying thing I've ever read

You will end up on the Steve Wilko's show!

If they knocked me out first, I might try that. Aside from that, aw HELL no. Spermicide has been working for us. It's quick, painless, only mildly inconvenient (dont want that stuff on your lips, for example, but not a huge deal I suppose) and so far has been effective. I'll deal with that over a needle in my wang any day.

Spermicide on its own? You're asking for a 4th.

Uh No thanks!
Can't stand needles full stop.

Had the snip when the 2n one was born (and was knocked out, yes i'm a pussy)

I have no problem with anyone not wanting kids. It is a personal choice that I can support, regardless of the reasons. Sometimes, I envy you lucky fuckers!
Over population is the single greatest root cause for the majority of the world's present and future problems.

On the other hand, some people out in the world should have never had kids, as they can't provide the basics, much less a nurturing home. They tend to have crap loads of kids. We've adopted one such kid, and may be doing the same for his sister soon.

Personally, it is the hardest yet most satisfying job in the world.

I really shouldn't judge people for being afraid of needles... But I can't seem to help myself.

Same here. I stab myself every other thursday for estrogen, and i know you've had a lot worse than that. It just seems tiny and trivial.

Show off!

How many sticks have you gotten the last few months? Feel free to use scientific notation.

You stop giving a fuck about IV's, bloodwork, etc., after your first spinal tap. Needles are uncomfortable, not painful.

True, but it can really depend on the nurse or phlebotomist.

I hope all is going in a positive direction for you and your health.
Oh, and you can keep the spinal tap, thank you!

most guys are more stoic when it comes to needles. women, in general, are more fearfull. I know a girl who almost passed out when I was removing the tape from her d/c hep lock, and this girl gave birth on a wednesday, I saw her shopping at Target on black Friday...we called her Supermom because she left early to cook thanksgiving dinner yet she was freaking out getting her IV taken out.,

To the "just get snipped" guys...

Don't they give you local anesthetic via....a needle when they do the procedure?

I'd have to imagine that the recovery time for a vascectomy is a lot longer than the recovery time for a single shot.

Unless the needle is 1/2" in diameter, I have to think the shot to the johnson is far less invasive than the snip.
3 needles when I got done.
no stictches, just a band aid, as there was no incision, just a small puncture-like hole.

the 1st needle stung a bit, didn't feel the other two.

no issues, no after-pain.
in fact, I went shopping right afterwards
was back at work in two days (my normal days off), though I could have been back the next day, if need be
