Yeah, a 500 buck wooden volume knob or hospital grade power cords are a hoot but this actually made me pause:

Soul Superfly is a high-efficiency, high-output floor standing loudspeaker capable of world-class performance--never mind its working-class price.

So what's their idea of a "working class" price point?

$4,543

http://www.zucable.com./loudspeakers.html

Apparently, I've got a ways to go before I become working class. :annoyed:

I need to put up a picture of my loudspeakers some time. They're 3 drivers (woofer/tweeter/supertweeter) and i got the pair for 2 dollars at a garage sale.

I win.

I spent about $450.00 on my entire surround sound system.......though I have heard $5000.00 speakers in a friends house. They did sound superb. But not $5K superb.....

I used to work with a guy like that. This is the shit he would buy :

Zu Mission Power cables are simply better than competing cables, even many costing much more, and this is true across the Mission line. They sound better, they are built better, they are flexible and easy to work with, and the are made by Zu, in Ogden, Utah, USA. We here at Zu have spent several years dialing this line in, trying everything we could get our hands on and anything we could think of to ensure we are leading the field—playing for second place just isn't in our nature. And delivering honest playback, with an easy hand, with heavy bias on bang for your buck... it all adds up to Zu Mission.
Features of the Mission Power cable include 100% pure copper U.S. drawn conductors in a multiple conductor circuit in a Tesla-Litz geometry. The electrodynamics technology was invented by Nikola Tesla back in the early 1900s to deal with the high demands of high fidelity transmission of both signal and power, and the technology, though refined and improved by Zu, is still very relavent.
In addition to the U.S. spec power outlet plug, we also terminate Mission power cables with region / country specific plugs. If you have any questions about international plug options please mail info@ZuAudio.com
Read more... Zu / Tesla architecture yields the following unique benefits in the Mission power cable:
perfect symmetry between line and neutral legs, coupled with their relationship to ground produce a power cable truly capable of dramatically lowering the noise of a system and delivering power from the outlet unimpeded. 100% high magnitude RF shielding, high flexibility, very high conductor area, and small cable diameter compared to the “fire hose” cables that require way to much work to connect and work with. (yeah, big cables are designed to make you feel good, or cover problems that really should have been solved for, don't kid yourself, big AC cables are a joke.)
Uniform cable construction, regardless of length, which ensures the highest possible conductance and shielding against environmental noise.Uniform E&M fields and their relationship to ground give Zu Mission power cables the ability to truly improve the sound of most any electronic component as opposed to the traditional, less than hi-fi 3-wire power cable. Zu B3 has a much smaller radiating field, when compared to the standard 3-wire power cable, thus producing a power cable that eliminates environmental impact on the component its connected to, and does not impact surrounding cables or electronics. And lastly, Zu Mission power cables are terminated using Wattgate™ connectors.

Zu Mission power cables are designed as a universal needs, high performance mains cable for use on all pro audio or home audio or video equipment. There are so many variables relative to AC power, just one of which is your power cable, that there are many situations that a power cable will not improve fidelity. Reasons for this include the design or condition of your equipment’s power supply, gear grounding, system ground noise and potentials, environment RF, above ground potentials, AC grids, local grounding, and on it goes. Nevertheless, if the power cable does a good job of shunting noise to ground and has good properties relative to phase, gain, group delay, impedance, and bandwidth, it should sound good, and yes, we feel Bok does these things better than any other competing power cable on the market.
Improvements that should be noticed if your playback system, and a particular component can benefit from a high performance power cable like the Zu Mission include: resolution, system noise floor, harmonic structure and timbre, attack, stereophonic realism, and a real sense of increased easy of listening.
Wall Side Connector OptionsIn addition to the U.S. wall plug format (NEMA 5-15), Zu Mission Power Cable can be fitted with the following (up-charges apply):
U.K. plug, Israel plug, Australian / New Zealand plug, and universal Shuko.
Equipment Side Connector Options Standard termination for the equipment side of the Mission is IEC320/C14. Zu Bok may also be fitted with the Hubbell™ developed high current C20 connector (up-charge may apply)
Burn-in
Zu Mission power cable will require a fair amount of use before it’s fully burned in, roughly 250 hours. We do not recommend any burn-in devices or special recordings. We do recommend music you enjoy, preferably upbeat full spectrum recordings. Rock, roots, full orchestra, big band.... For the possible hows and whys about burn-in please see our FAQ section of ZuAudio.com.
Zu Mission MaintenanceAnytime you are making an electrical connection make it a habit to inspect the contacts and clean them if they are tarnished or dirty. While no specific maintenance is required for the Mission power cable or its connector. If the exposed connector contact blades on the wall plug ever become dull or tarnished you will need to clean them.
Zu does not recommend any contact enhancing products for the Mission, or any Zu power cable.

$349 for a FUCKING POWER CABLE!!!!!!

The best part is that this was a guy who spent probably $100k on a home theater but stood in front of TWO Marshall full stacks whenever he gigged or rehearsed his band.

I should start a company making/selling this crap. With my background in chemistry and biophysics, I'm sure I can make up total horse shit explanations of how my products are superior to all others, and make those claims absolutely untestable by modern science.

Can we get discounts? :embarrassed:

Do they sell $40/foot AWG wire and a $400 breaker to go into your $10,000 breaker box that is on its own isolated circuit too?

I'll cut you a deal on the wire....12.95 a foot :thu:

High-end AC cable made specifically for dedicated lines from your breaker panel to your audio/video room outlets. Cardas Audio In-Wall Power 3 x 10 AWG (5.27 mm2) OFC Pure Copper for use in supplying high-quality, non-current limiting AC power while enhancing audio or video quality beyond standard commercially available cable. This cable was designed to allow any system to perform to it's highest potential.

God help you if you install that backwards. That's directional, like all good wire, right?

For sure...but, f'all if your using those cheap tone robbing fuses.

Might I suggest $50 Furutech fuse?
...Clearly a fuse that offers a more naturally open, warmer, and richer sound than stock fuses while imparting a way more dimensional perspective. You get all the resolution times a gazillion with no additional over-analytical-ness that makes things bright, annoying, and hyped. Can you say, 'Organic?'" 2009 Brutus Award winner
