The perfect guitar?

Guitars are tools. Who here has only one screwdriver in their toolbox? I love my Les Paul's, and that's my main tone. But, I also need my Strat. And my 12-string. And my tele.

My Benford comes close, but is definitely missing some tones I really like. I'm not sure I could nail down an ultimate electric.

For acoustics, I used to own it. My SJ sized Paragon. Played like a dream and had to die for tone. I have played in excess of 300 - 400 different acoustic guitars, and this one was in the top 5 of that list. Unfortunately I will never be able to afford a guitar at that level in the foreseeable future. I can live with what I have in the meantime.

For me, I think the Strat body shape is perfect. It's just so comfortable to play. I do like my bridge humbucker tones though, and having a nice stable tremolo is a plus. Also, moving the stupid volume knob out of the way is a must.

So, I guess this is my perfect guitar:

That's the one. No doubt about it !!!:thu:

I cannot post a pic of my ultimate guitar, but I believe I could spell out the specs that it would have:

Unfinished Rosewood Neck and Fingerboard
Lightweight carved top double cutaway body with unique wood grain (like Black Limba or Burl)
Thin violin-polished finish
Locking Tuners
PRS tremolo with unfinished brass saddles (IMO, the best trem on the market)

A simple yet versatile switching system that allows fat single coil sounds, jangly funk tones, thick rock sounds, and Piezo-equipped for Acoustic sounds.

its a guitar, not the ark. you won't be blown to bits if you invoke it.

Guitar number 1:

Strat body shape
9.5" fretboard radius
Rosewood fretboard
Kinman Pickups

Guitar number 2

The exact same, but with an EMG 85/SA/SA set and an Original Floyd Rose.

:embarrassed:

No idea, honestly. Haven't played enough to really know.

This thread is giving me GAS though. :embarrassed:
